  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Playing time slipping again

Rocchio is not in Saturday's lineup against the Phillies.

Rocchio has received inconsistent playing time of late due to struggles at the plate, as he is without a hit in his past 26 at-bats. He'll now be out of the lineup Saturday for the fourth time in the last six games, with Gabriel Arias manning shortstop and Will Wilson entering the lineup at second base while hitting eighth.

  • Chase Meidroth SS | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Back in action

Meidroth (shoulder) is leading off and playing shortstop Saturday against the Marlins, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Meidroth was a late scratch for Friday's matchup due to right shoulder soreness. However, he'll immediately return to take over his usual role as the White Sox's leadoff hitter.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Returns to lineup

Seager is hitting third and playing shortstop Saturday against the Tigers.

Seager sat two consecutive days -- the latter against lefty Tarik Skubal -- to rest a right hamstring injury. He'll return to the lineup Saturday, and it's a positive sign that he'll man shortstop rather than serve as the designated hitter.

  • Greg Jones RF | HOU

Greg Jones: Let go by White Sox

Jones was released by the White Sox on Saturday.

Jones spent most of the season with Triple-A Charlotte but was hitting just .145/.254/.258 across 71 plate appearances. He's been a mediocre hitter throughout his minor-league career, so it's unclear how much opportunity he will get moving forward.

  • Mookie Betts RF | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Tallies two hits, swipes bag Friday

Betts went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base Friday in a 14-11 victory versus the Diamondbacks.

Betts' RBI came on a sacrifice fly, and he also singled twice and swiped his third bag of the campaign. He's been collecting hits in bunches of late -- over his last 10 games, the All Star has notched exactly two hits seven times. Over that stretch, Betts is slashing .368/.419/.526 with a home run, 10 RBI, 13 runs and a 4:4 BB:K.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Three more hits Friday

Abrams went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.

It's the second straight three-hit performance from the shortstop, who has been on fire the last few weeks. Over the last 14 games. Abrams is slashing .368/.446/.509 with four steals, seven RBI and 10 runs, and he's hitting the ball with considerably more authority this season -- after posting an average exit velocity in the 16th percentile (87.4 mph) in 2023 and the 29th percentile (88.2 mph) in 2024, the 24-year-old is sitting in the 72nd percentile (91.1 mph) so far in 2025.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Doing damage on basepaths

Edwards went 1-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's loss to the White Sox.

The shortstop is still struggling to regain his 2024 form at the plate, but Edwards is taking advantage when he does get on base. He's up to 10 steals in 12 attempts on the season, and four of those pilfers have come in the last six games despite the fact that he's batting just .190 (4-for-21) during that stretch, although he's also drawn six free passes.

  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: On base four times Friday

Bichette went 2-for-3 with two walks and a run scored in Friday's win over the Mariners.

The shortstop is getting locked in at the top of the order for Toronto. Bichette is slashing .279/.354/.419 over the last 10 games with a homer, two steals, three RBI and five runs, and he's reached base multiple times in five of the last six contests.

  • Pirates' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Resumes activity

Kiner-Falefa (hamstring) has resumed baseball activity and is expected to run the bases this weekend, MLB.com reports.

Kiner-Falefa has been sidelined since early May with a right hamstring strain, though he was never expected to be out long. He's eligible to return Sunday, but he may need a few additional days before being activated.

  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Flashes skills in win

Lindor went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 7-2 win over the Cubs.

The All-Star shortstop remains locked in at the plate, taking Jameson Taillon deep on the right-hander's third pitch of the game to kick off a four-homer barrage by the Mets. Over his last 18 contests, Lindor has produced eight multi-hit performances, fueling a .347/.424/.627 slash line over that stretch with six homers, three steals, 15 runs and 17 RBI.
