Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Scratched with illness
Anderson was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Indians due to an illness, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Anderson is apparently feeling under the weather, so Tyler Saladino will slide into the starting lineup in his place. Consider Anderson day-to-day for now.

Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA
Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Knocks second homer of season
Adrianza went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Rays.
Starting in left field and batting ninth, Adrianza knocked a three-run homer off Blake Snell in the second inning. It was his second long ball of the season and fifth of his career (210 games). The 29-year-old is seeing only sporadic starts, and when he is in the lineup, Adrianza's daily fantasy appeal is limited given his track record.

Shawn O'Malley SS | COL
Mariners' Shawn O'Malley: Outrighted to Triple-A
O'Malley was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.
O'Malley was designated for assignment at the beginning of September to open a spot on Seattle's 40-man roster. O'Malley's performance with Tacoma was underwhelming this season, as he hit .205 with a .532 OPS over 20 games.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Enters game as pinch-hitter
Seager (elbow) came off the bench to deliver a pinch-hit single in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Seager wasn't expected to make his return until Friday, but he was apparently healthy enough to be used off the bench in a pinch. The slugging shortstop hasn't started a game since Aug. 27 while he deals with inflammation in his elbow. The Dodgers didn't announce whether Seager would be available to start Wednesday's series finale, so he should be considered day-to-day until his name officially appears on a lineup card.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Goes deep Tuesday
Story went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Giants.
Story took southpaw Ty Blach deep in the fourth inning for his 19th long ball. Nine of those home runs have come against left-handed pitching even though the shortstop has almost three times as many plate appearances against righties. He has come back down to earth with a .225/.302/.424 line after slashing .272/.341/.567 as a rookie last year, but still holds value thanks in part to playing his home games at the league's most hitter-friendly venue.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Aiming for Friday return
Manager Dave Roberts reported Tuesday that Seager (elbow) could rejoin the starting lineup Friday against the Rockies, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Seager has been withheld from the starting lineup each of the past four days, but he was able to increase his throwing distance Tuesday and is now on track to return to action Friday. He should be deployed in fantasy lineups with confidence upon his return, as the Dodgers likely wouldn't rush him back into action before he's fully healthy.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Athletics' Joey Wendle: Rejoins big-league club
Wendle was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
A shoulder injury delayed Wendle at the start of the season and he went on to post an underwhelming .285/.327/.429 line with Nashville. The 27-year-old can help out all around the infield, but he's not a key part of the club's long-term plans and thus probably won't be given much of a look in the weeks ahead.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Returns Tuesday
Baez (thumb) is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth Tuesday against the Pirates.
He was scratched from Monday's lineup with a sore thumb, but it appears to have been a minor issue. With Addison Russell (plantar fasciitis) out at least a couple more weeks, Baez should start at shortstop every day over the next four or five series.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Starting at 3B in big-league debut
Crawford is starting at third base and hitting seventh in his big-league debut Tuesday against the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Crawford is a shortstop by trade, but the Phillies will deploy him at the hot corner in his first big-league start. He should see time at shortstop and third base over the final four weeks. Crawford hit .285/.385/.544 line with 13 homers in 228 at-bats since the beginning of July en route to earning this promotion. The Phillies will have some interesting roster decisions to make this offseason, but the expectation is that Crawford remains the team's shortstop of the future.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Contract selected from Triple-A
Crawford had his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
As expected, Crawford will join the big club for the first time since being drafted as a first-round pick in 2013. The 22-year-old turned things around after a slow start to the season, putting together a .285/.385/.544 line with 13 homers in 228 at-bats since the beginning of July. He's expected to see playing time at shortstop, second base and third base in order to get him at-bats down the stretch. Pedro Florimon (ankle) was shifted to the 60-day DL to clear room on the 40-man roster.
