Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Two hits, error Saturday
Anderson went 2-for-4 and committed his 20th error of the season in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.
Manager Rick Renteria continues to preach patience with Anderson, who showed promise during his rookie season in 2016 but has experienced a noticeable offensive dropoff in 2017. Compounding the 24-year-old's struggles is his league-worst defense at shortstop, which doesn't mean much to those in fantasy circles but could eventually eat into his playing time and be a contributing factor to his offense. There is not a ready replacement in the system, and the White Sox have invested six years in Anderson, so Renteria will give him a long leash before making a change. Fantasy owners don't have to be as patient with him.

Taylor Featherston SS | MIN
Rays' Taylor Featherston: Sent back to minors
Featherston was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Tim Beckham is set to come off the DL after missing time with an ankle injury, bringing an end to Featherston's extended stay in the big leagues. The 27-year-old was originally brought in as an injury replacement for Brad Miller, but his .184 average through 38 at-bats won't earn him an extensive role with the squad. Featherston returns to Triple-A, where he slashed .270/.370/.394 over 46 games for Lehigh Valley before being traded to Tampa Bay.

Yeyson Yrizarri SS | CHW
White Sox's Yeyson Yrizarri: Traded to White Sox
Yrizarri was traded to the White Sox on Saturday.
Acquired from Texas in exchange for international signing bonus money, Yrizarri will add to one of the best farm systems in all of baseball. The 20-year-old was a top-20 prospect for the Rangers and had been hitting .258 with seven home runs, 37 RBI and 27 extra-base hits over 82 games combined at Low-A Hickory and High-A Down East this season.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Called up to Triple-A
Fletcher was promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Fletcher played 84 games at the Double-A level over the last two seasons, and was hitting .276/.341/.354 with one home run and 22 RBI this year at the time of his promotion. The second baseman is one of the top 20 prospects in the Angels' system and has displayed the ability to hit at each stage of his professional career thus far. Although he's not a power hitter by any means, Fletcher grinds out at-bats, and has dropped his strikeout rate to just 11 percent this season. He has the ability to play at both middle-infield positions, but will likely need some quality time with Salt Lake before gaining an opportunity in the big leagues.

Chris Owings SS | LAD
Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Scores twice, steals base Friday
Owings went 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Braves.
Owings also reached base a third time when he was hit by a pitch for the first time all season. The shortstop may have missed out on an All-Star nod, but he still remains in the midst of the best season of his career. His .294 average is 17 points better than his previous career best, and his 12 home runs nearly match his total (15) from the past three seasons combined.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Launches ninth home run
Arcia went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Friday's win over the Phillies.
The home run was Arcia's third of July and ninth this season. His season line, which sat at .251/.293/.368 at the end of May, is now up to .282/.322/.425. He hasn't attempted a steal since June 28 and has just five stolen bases this year, but Arcia's bat is catching up to his glove quicker than most expected after some initial struggles at the big-league level.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Held out Friday
Story is not in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Mets, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Story hit just .224/.303/.396 with 11 home runs and 35 RBI during the first half of 2017. His power is evident, but he hasn't been able to get on base regularly, and striking out in 35.2 percent of his plate appearances doesn't exactly create confidence for fantasy owners. Pat Valaika will start at short while batting seventh in his place during Friday's contest.
-
Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Sitting out Friday
Swanson is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Johan Camargo will man shortstop in the Braves' second-half opener, as he did for two of the final five games before the break. Swanson put together a strong month of June (.306/.355/.418), but finished the first half with just one hit in his final 19 at-bats, bringing his season line to .221/.296/.324. There has been nothing to suggest a demotion is imminent, but a brief trip back to the minors at some point is not out of the question.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Raul Mondesi: Doing well in Triple-A
Mondesi was selected to represent Omaha in the Triple-A All-Star Game but chose to sit out for precautionary reasons, Maria Torres of The Kansas City Star reports.
Mondesi, who surprisingly captured an Opening Day starting role with the Royals only to be demoted two weeks later, entered the All-Star break with a .316 batting average and tied for second in the league with 18 stolen bases for Omaha. Projected as the Royals' future shortstop, Mondesi admitted to losing his focus while at the big-league level. "I get it now. I wanted to do too many things at the same time and, really, that didn't work," he said. "You have to learn to separate your game from the game of your teammates. Everyone plays their own role."
