  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Giants' Willy Adames: Tallies three RBI

Adames went 2-for-5 with three RBI in Monday's 9-3 win over the Dodgers.

Adames joined the offensive outburst by delivering a two-RBI single in the seventh inning before driving in another run with a single in the ninth frame. Monday marked the shortstop's first three-RBI effort of the season, as he has still struggled to a .215/.247/.344 slash line with three homers, 12 doubles, 11 RBI, 12 runs and a stolen base through 40 games. Adames has now recorded multiple hits in three of the past four contests and will look to continue trending upward after a difficult start to the campaign.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Knocks in two runs in win

Rocchio went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI in Monday's 7-0 win over the Angels.

Rocchio didn't let a bases-loaded opportunity pass by when he delivered a two-out, two-run single in the second inning. He's been money with runners in scoring position, slashing .382/.475/.529 with 18 RBI in those situations. He also stole his seventh base (caught three times) in 41 games. With the Guardians calling up Travis Bazzana to be the primary second baseman, shortstop will have to be Rocchio's home. It's unclear what Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt's plan is for shortstop when Gabriel Arias (hamstring) is read to return, but Rocchio's bat could put him atop the depth chart.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Holds down second base

Duran started at second base and went 1-for-4 in Monday's 1-0 loss to Arizona.

Duran started for the 11th consecutive game, with eight of those coming at second base. He's making a strong case to retain a regular spot in the starting nine, having gone 12-for-38 (.316) with five extra-base hits (one home run), five RBI, one steal and six runs scored during that 11-game run. He'd already stolen playing time at the keystone before Josh Smith (glute) landed on the 10-day injured list and has been the primary fill-in since. Smith, who is eligible to come off the IL on Thursday, came down with a case of wrist inflammation in the midst of his ramp-up per Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News, and he will therefore see his return potentially delayed.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Delivers lone run in win

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 1-0 win over the Rangers.

Perdomo's first-inning double drove in the only run of the game for his 12th RBI of the season. The shortstop is last season's pace, when he had 30 RBI over the same number of games (37) on the way to 100 RBI. The multi-hit effort was a positive sign for Perdomo, who entered the night batting .138 (4-for-29) over the previous eight contests.

  • Cooper Pratt SS | MIL

Brewers' Cooper Pratt: No longer slowed by sore foot

Pratt (foot) has appeared in six games after sitting out May 5 due to foot soreness.

Pratt was briefly held out at Triple-A Nashville with a minor foot issue, but he managed to avoid a trip to the injured list. He's struggled a bit at the dish over his last six games, as he's 3-for-24 with one home run, four RBI, two stolen bases and five runs scored.

  • Pirates' Yordany De Los Santos: Activated from MiLB IL

De Los Santos (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list Friday.

De Los Santos completed a brief ramp-up period at Single-A Bradenton, where he went 5-for-21 with two home runs and five RBI over five games before being activated. He returned to High-A Greensboro on Friday and is 3-for-9 with a deep ball, four RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored in two appearances.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Slated for rehab games

Pena (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, likely at Double-A Corpus Christi, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pena will go through a full workout Monday first, and as long as he gets through that without any hiccups, he'll play in his first game in more than a month Tuesday. The shortstop could be back on the Astros' active roster before the end of this week.

  • Josh H. Smith SS | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Now dealing with wrist issue

Smith (lower body) is dealing with a wrist injury that will delay his rehab program, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Smith landed on the 10-day injured list this past Tuesday due to a right glute strain. A minimum stint on the IL would have Smith eligible to return May 15, but his new wrist issue will likely push that return date by at least a few days. Prior to his placement on the IL, Smith was slashing .217/.324/.239 with two steals and six RBI across 108 plate appearances.

  • Orioles' Jeremiah Jackson: On bench for second straight

Jackson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

He'll take a seat for the second day in a row while the Orioles go with Blaze Alexander at second base. After a sizzling start to the season at the dish, Jackson has gone cold thus far in May, slashing just .154/.185/.154 over 27 plate appearances on the month.

  • Astros' Braden Shewmake: Seeing time at shortstop vs. RHPs

Shewmake will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Mariners, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

For the Astros' third consecutive matchup versus a right-handed starter, the left-handed-hitting Shewmake has received the nod over the right-handed-hitting Nick Allen at shortstop. Assuming the Astros continue to take a platoon approach to shortstop, Shewmake will likely see the bulk of the starts at the position in the short term, but Jeremy Pena (hamstring) is set to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday or Wednesday and could settle back atop the depth chart by the weekend.
