  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Earns third straight start

DeJong will start at second base and bat seventh Wednesday against the Dodgers.

DeJong has kicked off his major-league career with three hits in eight at-bats, and it appears manager Mike Matheny is content to keep the youngster in the lineup while his bat remains hot and Kolten Wong (elbow) remains on the disabled list. He'll pick up his third straight start at the keystone Wednesday.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Playing well since coming off DL

Adrianza has seven hits in 22 at-bats since coming off the disabled list in early May.

The utility infielder has seen infrequent playing time for Minnesota thus far but has found success when in the lineup. He carries a .318/.370/.364 slash line and will see occasional time in left field in addition to the infield spots, making him a versatile bench option for the Twins.

  • Padres' Chase d'Arnaud: Sits out Wednesday

D'Arnaud is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

D'Arnaud has emerged as the preferred option at shortstop for San Diego, but after a pair of hitless showings, he's now just 3-for-16 with the Friars. Erick Aybar will take over at shortstop for the day.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Reaches base three times Tuesday

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

He's been on fire lately at the top of the Marlins batting order, slashing .436/.476/.564 with six multi-hit performances, eight runs and three steals in his last 10 games. Gordon's current numbers on the season look very similar to his breakout 2014 campaign, and as long as he's making contact and using his speed to generate offense he's going to have plenty of fantasy value.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Swats sixth homer Tuesday

Anderson went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 13-7 loss to the Red Sox.

Manager Rick Renteria continues to move Anderson up and down the batting order, but the shortstop's been very comfortable in the seven-hole. In nine games as the seventh-place hitter, Anderson is 16-for-35 (.457, 1.358 OPS) with four homers and seven RBI. He's enjoyed a good month of May, bouncing back from an awful April when he primarily hit leadoff or second. We'd like to see Renteria let Anderson build momentum down the order and not try to force him into being something he's not yet ready to be.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Three hits in Tuesday's win

Turner went 3-for-5 with a run scored and his 12th stolen base of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Giants.

It's his third multi-hit performance in his last five games. Turner is starting to put his early-season slump behind him, hitting .302/.318/.442 with a homer, three steals, four RBI and six runs in his last 10 contests.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Four hits Tuesday

Bogaerts went 4-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the White Sox.

After waiting until last Thursday to hit his first homer of the season, Bogaerts needed just five games to go yard again. In addition to the power surge, he's now hitting .417/.450/.639 with two steals, eight RBI and 10 runs over his last nine games.

  • Padres' Chase d'Arnaud: Seeing regular playing time at short

D'Arnaud started and went 0-for-2 with a walk in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.

The 30-year-old has quietly been stealing starts from Erick Aybar at short recently, starting four of the Padres' last six contests. D'Arnaud doesn't provide a whole lot of offense, but a regular role and shortstop eligibility may be enough for very deep or NL-only owners to give him a look.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Breaks scoreless tie with RBI double

Owings went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in Tuesday's 3-0 win in Pittsburgh.

Owings turned on a 2-1 fastball from Ivan Nova, delivering a two-out RBI double in the sixth inning. The run broke a scoreless tie and provided all the support Arizona starter Robbie Ray would need. Owings is putting together a strong month of May, hitting .322 for the month. Despite continuing to hit for average, Owings isn't running like he did in April. After going 7-for-8 in stolen bases in the season's first month, he's just 2-for-3 in May. His run production has also dipped. His home run, runs and RBI totals this month are all down.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Heads to bench Tuesday

Crawford is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals, Alec Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Despite collecting hits in each of his last three games, Crawford will head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Rookie Christian Arroyo will take over at shortstop while Eduardo Nunez mans the hot corner.
