Adames, 20, is slashing .274/.375/.444 with nine home runs, 46 RBI and 11 steals through 102 games for Double-A Montgomery.

Adames has now set single season bests in both home runs and steals, as he continues to climb towards the big leagues. He has also managed to cut down on his strikeouts this season even despite the increase in power. Adames flies under the radar for some reason but is a top-flight prospect for the Rays.

Crawford, 21, is batting .255/.343/.335 with three home runs, 24 RBI and seven steals through 66 games for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Crawford hasn't exactly scalded the ball at this level, but he is just 21 years of age and has an extremely advanced approach at the dish. In those 66 games, he has 42 strikeouts as compared to 33 walks. The Phils could decide to give him a cup of coffee in the big leagues in September with an eye towards the starting shortstop job in 2017.

Anderson is day-to-day after leaving Thursday's game with a bruised left hand.

He was hit on the hand by a pitch in the first inning and left Thursday's game, being replaced by Tyler Saladino at shortstop. X-rays on the hand were negative, so he should not miss significant time. After getting off to a hot start to his big league career, Anderson has tailed off and is now slashing just .264/.271/.398 with five homers and four steals in 206 plate appearances. He has plenty of long-term upside, but his approach needs a lot of work, so it may take awhile before he fully rewards his owners in keeper and dynasty leagues.

Anderson left Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch on the hand in the first inning, the Chicago Tribune's Colleen Kane reports.

Anderson took a pitch off the hand to start Thursday's game and was replaced by Tyler Saladino at shortstop with Carlos Sanchez coming in to play second base. His status will be updated when the team specifies the nature of the injury.

Gordon went 3-for-5 with one run scored and two steals in Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.

Gordon has hit in five of six starts since returning from an 80-game PED suspension on July 28, compiling a solid .348/.423/.391 slash line while going 3-for-4 in stolen base attempts. There was speculation that Gordon would be subject to a platoon with backup Derek Dietrich in order to keep the latter fresh for a potential playoff run (Gordon is ineligible for the post-season), however, manager Don Mattingly appears content to get his best available lineup out there everyday and that includes Dee Gordon atop the order. He's literally hit the ground running in his return and will be a massive source of speed over the final two months of the season.

Mondesi is out of the lineup Thursday against the Rays, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.

After notching six hits in his first five games after being called up on July 26, he has now gone hitless with five strikeouts over his last four contests. Mondesi's defense alone should keep him in the lineup most days, but Christian Colon will man the keystone Thursday to give the 21-year-old rookie a day off.

O'Malley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

O'Malley will sit for the second straight game after starting the past six at short. In his place, the club will go with Luis Sardinas, who will bat ninth in the order.

The Braves have optioned Castro back to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It was a short stay for Castro, who was called up to Atlanta on Sunday. During his brief stint, Castro got no at-bats for the Braves. He will head back to Triple-A Gwinnett where he was hitting .264 in 110 at-bats, showing minimal power and speed.

Swanson, 22, is hitting .258/.334/.413 with eight home runs, 42 RBI and five steals through 75 games with Double-A Mississippi.

Though he's batting just .205 in his last 10 contests, Swanson does have a home run, seven RBI and two steals over that span. Swanson remains the shortstop of the future for the Braves, and should be in the mix for the starting job as early as next season.

Urena was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old switch-hitting shortstop forced the Blue Jays' hand over the past week, notching 14 hits and two home runs in his last six games for High-A Dunedin. He leaves the pitcher-friendly Florida State League with a .305/.351/.447 slash line with eight homers and nine steals in 394 at-bats. Urena does not receive quite as much hype as some other shortstops in the middle levels of the minors, partly because he does not project to be a plus defender at shortstop, but his bat is legitimate and should be able to play even if he moves down the defensive spectrum.
