Tejada cleared waivers Tuesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento.

After being designated for assignment on Jul. 20, Tejada successfully went through waivers unclaimed and will return to the Giants' organization. However, now that he's lost his spot on the 40-man roster, Tejada may not be back up with the big league club until much later in the season unless the Giants experience a rash of injuries to the infield.

Diaz (thumb) has been placed on the 15-day DL, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

As planned, Diaz has officially been placed on the disabled list with a hairline fracture on his thumb. The team has yet to announce a timeframe for his return, but they'll want to be careful with their rookie shortstop, as Diaz is in the midst of a phenomenal season and owns a .312/.376/.518 line.

Arcia will be called up Tuesday to make his major league debut.

Following the trade of Jonathan Lucroy and the team's top two relievers on Monday, the Brewers are set to open a new era by calling up their top prospect. Arcia reached the Triple-A level for the first time this year and did not tear the cover off the ball in the hitter-friendly PCL, but his defense has been major-league ready for a while, and the Brewers are ready to let him get his feet wet at the top level. According to manager Craig Counsell, via MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, Arcia will assume the regular shortstop duties right away, and Jonathan Villar will slide over and become the Brewers' third baseman.

Diaz (thumb) was diagnosed with a hairline fracture and will need to spend time on the DL, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

It's expected that the Cardinals' rookie will be on the disabled list for more than 15 days, as his thumb injury is more severe than initially expected. Greg Garcia will likely start at shortstop while Diaz recovers; however, Jedd Gyorko is also an option, as he's occasionally spent time at shortstop this season.

Urena homered in his second straight game, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored Thursday for Single-A Dunedin.

One night after MLB.com ranked Richard Urena as the Blue Jays' top prospect, the 20-year-old shortstop showed why. The native of the Dominican Republic impressed last year during his first full season in the minors, cutting down his fielding errors while tallying 37 extra-base hits and hitting .262 over 121 games after committing to switch-hitting in 2014. This year, Urena has been even more consistent, batting .299/.344/.447 with eight homers, 18 doubles and seven triples in 93 Florida State League games. In the second half, he's 50-for-134 with a .413 on-base percentage and 13 extra-base hits over 33 games.

Bogaerts went 1-for-5 with a solo homer Sunday at the Angels.

Bogaerts smashed his 14th bomb of the campaign to cap off a five-run ninth inning in a thrilling Red Sox victory. He's now homered in three of his last five games to raise his slugging percentage to .486 on the campaign.

Gordon went 1-for-2 with two walks in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

He saw an impressive 20 pitches in his four plate appearances and Gordon has now reached base seven times in the last three games while scoring four runs and stealing a base. Not coincidentally the Marlins have also scored 22 runs in those three games, as Gordon's presence in the leadoff spot has helped kick-start the offense.

Baez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners.

With Chris Coghlan in left field and Ben Zobrist at second base, Baez will get the day off after making six straight starts at the keystone. Six games in a row actually tied a personal record for Baez from earlier in the season, so the 23-year-old is likely getting a routine day off. Baez is having a solid month of July, slashing .333/.372/.494 to bring his season batting average up to .289.

Crawford (hand) is available to pinch hit in Sunday's outing against the Nationals, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area

With this latest news, Crawford is expected to fully return for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia. Crawford has been rather subpar at the plate in recent contests and has gone just 5-for-22 over the last seven days.

Pennington (hamstring) will be activated from the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez reports.

Pennington has fully recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him out since late May, but it looks like the Angels will wait for Monday's trade deadline to pass before activating the shortstop and thereby adding him to the 40-man roster. Once he rejoins the club, Pennington figures to serve in a backup capacity at multiple infield spots.
