Mateo has played some center field in instructs, and could eventually move to that position long term, if needed, the Star-Ledger's Brendan Kuty reports.

He has seen time at shortstop and second base, in addition to center field, so an official position change is not in the works yet, but given the Yankees' internal depth at shortstop and Mateo's speed, he might fit best for the Yankees in center field. This would slightly hurt his value in dynasty leagues, but the development of his hit tool will ultimately be what determines whether or not he is a significant long-term asset.

Gordon went 2-for-3 and stole his 30th base of the season in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

An 80-game PED suspension hurt his overall numbers, but Gordon still finishes the regular season with some momentum, hitting .440 (11-for-25) over his last six games with seven steals. If he can avoid another infraction, he should once again compete for the MLB stolen base crown in 2017.

Correa is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels.

Correa will give way to Marwin Gonzalez at shortstop for Houston's season finale Sunday afternoon. Correa had a rough time at the plate Saturday, as he went 0-for-5 and struck out twice.

Baez is not in the lineup for the team's regular-season finale against the Reds.

The Cubs wanted to get Jorge Soler back in action in left field Sunday, resulting in Kris Bryant moving to third base. The corresponding moves relegate Baez to a bench spot, but he should still contribute to the team's postseason efforts.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Pirates.

The rookie standout continues to wield a hot bat, with Saturday's production representing his third straight game with a hit and second multi-hit effort over that span. Diaz slumped overall in September but has turned in a 2016 campaign that exceeded expectations, parlaying Jhonny Peralta's spring-training thumb injury into an opportunity that has led to a stellar .303/.371/.515 line over 400 at-bats.

Turner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Marlins.

The fifth-inning blast, his 13th home run in just 72 big-league games this season, proved to be the difference. Despite the late call-up, Turner has put himself firmly in the conversation for NL Rookie of the Year with a .342/.367/.569 slash line, 53 runs scored and 32 steals.

Gordon is not in Saturday's lineup against the Nationals, MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports.

Gordon, along with several other Marlins regulars, is out of the lineup as the Marlins give some reserves the opportunity to take the field as they play out the string. Derek Dietrich will start at second base and lead off against righty Tanner Roark.

Noonan declined an outright assignment to the minor leagues, electing free agency, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

A first-round pick in 2007, he flopped in a 62-game audition with the Giants in 2013 and has logged a total of 44 plate appearances in the majors since. He was passed over for a September callup with the Padres this season and seems to be firmly in Quad-A territory, but some team may bring Noonan to camp as a non-roster invitee.

Swanson went 1-for-3 with a walk, homer and scored twice in Thursday's win over Philadelphia.

With his homer, Swanson continues to show he's slowly adjusting to big league pitching. All three of the shortstop's home runs have come since Sept. 6. During that span, the 22-year-old has batted .354 (23-for-65) with eight extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 14 runs.

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with his 21st homer and two strikeouts in Thursday's loss to the Yankees.

Bogaerts now has more home runs in 154 games this season than he did in 318 coming into 2016. The 23-year-old shortstop has already set career highs in counting stats across the board with three games to play. He likely won't appear in all three, though, given that Boston rested five starters in this one.
