Castro is likely to play some games at shortstop in the near future, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

The middle infielder has played well, going 12-for-44 (.273) in 12 games this season, but the real reason Castro might move to shortstop is the struggling Erick Aybar. The 32-year-old veteran is hitting just .155, including .077 versus left-handers. Mark Bowman of MLB.com also wrote that Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez may switch the two middle infielders, but Bowman reports that the switch won't occur as quickly as O'Brien suggested it would.

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday night's 11-4 win over Atlanta. He has three steals in the past two games.

Bogaerts has the legs to steal bags -- he was successful 10 times in 12 stolen-base attempts in 2015 -- but hitting one spot ahead of David Ortiz in the batting order, Bogaerts the baserunner rarely gets the opportunity to steal a bag. It doesn't serve a purpose to steal -- if you get thrown out, there's one less run for Ortiz to knock in; if you're successful, the opponent is motivated to take the bat out of Ortiz's hands via the intentional walk. What was different about these last two games is that Boston was in a National League city and Oritz, a designated hitter by trade, was held out of the lineup. We don't expect to see a big uptick in stolen bases for Bogaerts, who stole just three all of last season when hitting out of the three-hole.

Story is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

The switch-htting Cristhian Adames will get the start at shortstop in place of Story for Tuesday's matchup against right-hander Gerrit Cole. Story has come back to earth a bit since his torrid start, collecting four hits in his last 26 at-bats. He's available off the bench Tuesday and figures to get back into the lineup Wednesday against lefty Jon Niese.

Owings went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's win over St. Louis.

All three of Owings' hits were singles, and he still owns a poor .367 slugging percentage on the season. Owings struck out again on Monday and has 14 in his 19 games this season; his 22.2 percent strikeout rate suggests he'll struggle to maintain his current .283 batting average.

Adames is slashing .258/.352/.452 with three homers and a stolen base across 71 plate appearances for Double-A Montgomery.

Adames has always been one of the youngest players at every level of his development, and while his stat lines haven't often stood out, he still remains one of the Rays' most intriguing prospects. He's off to a nice start to 2016 thanks mostly to his disciplined eye at the plate, but is still likely at least two years away from settling into a full-time role in the majors.

Bogaerts returned to the lineup Sunday after missing one game with a wrist injury. He went 1-for-5 with a walk in a 7-5 extra-inning win over Houston.

Bogaerts is hitting .271 through 17 games played, a noticeable drop off from his breakout 2015 season, but he's always been a slow starter in the colder months. He hit .274 in April 2015 before hitting .326 between May and October. If he's still at .270 or thereabouts in June, it might be time to panic.

Seager went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, three RBI, a walk and a run scored during Sunday's win over the Rockies.

Seager struggled out of the gate, but he caught fire over the last four games of the road trip, with a .353 average to go along with a home run, five RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base. He is capable of contributing across the board and seems to be enjoying some of his first sustained success of the 2016 season at the moment.

Gordon went 2-for-5 with two runs and two steals Sunday at the Giants.

Gordon's speed on the bases was critical in a game the Marlins would only win by a single run. Although the speedster has six steals on the season, these were the first he's recorded in his last six games.

Bogaerts (wrist) will return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Astros, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Bogaerts skipped Saturday's game after being hit in the wrist Friday -- although he was available off the bench as a defensive replacement -- but it appears the night off did him well. The 23-year-old shortstop will return to the lineup Sunday and hit in his usual spot (third) in the order. Bogaerts can be deployed normally in both season-long and daily lineups, as there's nothing to suggest he's limited in any capacity.

Diaz was a perfect 5-for-5 against San Diego on Saturday, with two doubles, a run scored, and two RBI in the win.

He's been shaky defensively but absolutely scorching at the plate for the Cardinals since stepping in at shortstop following injuries to Jhonny Peralta (hand) and Ruben Tejada. Diaz is slashing an incredible .467/.500/.822 in 45 at-bats, and while it's clear he won't continue at this pace, the 25-year-old has likely forced his way into the everyday lineup for the foreseeable future.
