Bogaerts (wrist) will get X-rays following Friday's game, but he did not seem too distraught about the injury, the Boston Globe's Pete Abraham reports.

He left Friday's game against the Astros in the ninth inning after getting hit on the wrist by a Luke Gregerson fastball. Abraham's assessment that Bogaerts was not distraught is encouraging, but the team has still not commented on the exact nature of the injury, and are unlikely to until the X-rays come back, so stay tuned.

This could be a damaging blow for the Red Sox and for Bogaerts' fantasy owners. He remained on the ground after getting hit while the team's trainer and manager checked on him, and he was then escorted off the field. Stay tuned for word of the official diagnosis. Brock Holt and Josh Rutledge are the only other players capable of playing shortstop on the 25-man roster.

Gordon is back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

After getting a routine day off Thursday leading up to a lengthy west coast road swing, Gordon will be back atop the order for Friday's contest in San Francisco. He'll be facing righty Jeff Samardzija for the first time in his career Friday.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Diaz exceeded expectations to begin the year by slashing .385/.429/.744 out of the gate while presumptive starter Ruben Tejada rehabbed from a quad injury. However, with Tejada back in the fold, Diaz's playing time and thus his fantasy value will probably decline given that the Cardinals sought out Tejada in free agency. Once the situation becomes settled over the next week or two, Diaz's role with the team moving forward should become more clear.

Castro is in the lineup and batting second for Friday's game against the Mets.

Castro is receiving his fourth straight start for the Braves and has taken advantage of the opportunity, hitting .267 with three RBI and one stolen base over the past three games. With Hector Olivera, Ender Inciarte, and Gordon Beckham all unavailable, Castro should continue to see solid playing time until they return.

Baez is in the lineup playing third base and batting sixth for Friday's game against the Reds.

Manager Joe Maddon said he wants to get Baez around three starts a week and has backed that up thus far, as Kris Bryant moves to left field and Jorge Soler gets the day off. Baez is off to a solid start since his callup, going 4-for-13 with one double.

Adrianza (foot) was placed on the 60-day DL on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports.

Adrianza was a versatile infielder for the Giants, so his loss really hurt their depth and caused the team to place him on the 60-day DL in order to make room on their roster for infielder Conor Gillaspie. Adrianza was hitting .300/.364/.700 with one home run and two RBI prior to suffering his injury and will now focus on his rehab with the expectation of returning sometime in mid-to-late June.

Owings went 2-for-4 with two steals and a run in Thursday's win over the Giants.

A middle infielder by trade, Owings has been playing center for the Diamondbacks thanks to A.J. Pollock's elbow injury, but the defensive stats haven't been very kind to him so far, so he needs to start doing some more with the bat and on the bases. With two-hit efforts in three of the last four games, he's showing some signs lately.

Ahmed is not in the lineup Thursday against the Giants.

The everyday shortstop will get the day off as the Diamondbacks go with Jean Segura at short, shifting Phil Gosselin into the lineup at second base. Expect Ahmed to return to the lineup Friday when Arizona kicks off a three-game set with the Pirates back in Phoenix.

Bogaerts (quad) is in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays, Kevin Thomas of the Portland Press Herald reports.

Bogaerts was removed from Wednesday's game due to tightness in his left quad, but Red Sox manager John Farrell said the move was merely precautionary. Supporting that notion, Bogaerts is back in the lineup for Thursday's matchup with Rays pitcher Jake Odorizzi, occupying his usual spot as the starting shortstop and No. 3 hitter.
