The Padres added infielder Ryan Jackson to the 40-man roster Tuesday then immediately placed him on the 60-day disabled list with a wrist injury, MLB.com reports. Jackson is recovering from June wrist surgery.

The Diamondbacks activated infielder Chris Owings (shoulder) and outfielder A.J. Pollock (hand) from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, the team announced.
Owings has been out since late June due to his injury, while Pollock's has kept him out since late May.

As expected, Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts is back in the team's lineup Saturday, after recovering from a concussion.
Bogaerts has been out a week while recovering, and he spent that time on the 7-day disabled list. He is hitting eighth in Saturday's game against the Rays, and carries a .223/.293/.333 line for the season into the action.

Trio of Diamondbacks coming back September 1
The Diamondbacks are set to bring back some of their injured players once rosters expand, according to FoxSports.
Outfielder A.J. Pollock, shortstop Chris Owings and starter Daniel Hudson should be back with the team September 1. Pollock has been out since late May with a hand issue. Owings has been dealing with a should injury. Hudson is coming back following Tommy John surgery.

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford was scratched from the lineup for the second day in a row Thursday against the Rockies, due to a right shoulder that "has been bugging me pretty good the last four or five day," he told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Crawford was also out of the lineup Wednesday, and it is not clear when he is expected back. It seems like he could play through the injury, but it is affected his throwing right now.

Red Sox infielder Xander Bogaerts has passed Major League Baseball's concussion protocal, and should be back Saturday, according to the Providence Journal.
Bogaerts can return from the 7-day disabled list Saturday, and it's looking like that will happen. He's hitting .223/.293/.333 over 435 at-bats.

Indians infielder Zach Walters belted his ninth home run Tuesday against the White Sox.
Walters struck in the top of the 10th inning. With the game tied, Walters clubbed a 96 mph fastball out to right center for the two-run shot. He also singled and walked earlier in the contest. He finished 2 for 4, with two runs scored and two RBI. Walters has now hit five home runs in his last 10 games.

Bogaerts still has to pass league-mandated tests before he's cleared to return. He can come off the seven-day disabled list as early as Saturday. There's a chance he'll do that based on his progress. Bogaerts is hitting .223/.293/.333 over 435 at-bats.

Pennington launched a solo home run off Dale Thayer in the eighth inning. He finished 1 for 1 with a run scored and an RBI in a 7-4 defeat. He owns a .274/.357/.395 slash line with two homers and 10 RBI over 124 at-bats. His two homers have come over his last nine appearances.
