Witt went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 1-0 extra-inning win over the Nationals.

Witt's 10th-inning single and an error by the Nationals led to the Royals scoring the decisive run of the game. The shortstop has gone 12-for-30 (.400) with five extra-base hits, nine RBI and three steals over his last nine games. He's at a .335/.392/.597 slash line with 32 home runs, 108 RBI, 124 runs scored and 31 steals over 157 contests in his breakout campaign.

Winn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a two-run double in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Rockies.

Winn's first multi-hit effort since Sept. 13 ended up generating over half of the Cardinals' runs in the game. The shortstop has three homers, three doubles and six RBI over his last 11 contests. For the season, he's at a .266/.313/.411 slash line, 15 homers, 55 RBI, 78 runs scored, 29 doubles and 11 stolen bases over 146 contests.

Manager Carlos Mendoza said after Tuesday's loss to Atlanta that Lindor (back) "could be in play" for Wednesday's game, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Lindor didn't play in Tuesday's contest, but he finished the game in the on-deck circle and would have pinch hit in the ninth inning if the Mets had put anybody on base. Mendoza's willingness to use Lindor in a late-game situation is a good sign that the infielder has recovered from his lingering back issue after missing eight consecutive games, and he seems to have a good chance of ending the streak Wednesday.

Jimenez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Jimenez started the previous eight games but will receive a day off after going 4-for-24 with eight strikeouts during that stretch. Davis Schneider will man second base while batting eighth versus Boston righty Brayan Bello.

Schuemann isn't in the Athletics' lineup Tuesday versus the Rangers.

Schuemann will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going 0-for-10 with three strikeouts across his last four games. Darell Hernaiz will fill the opening at third base and bat ninth while Schuemann rests.

Lindor (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Atlanta.

It's the eighth consecutive start Lindor has missed due to a nagging back problem. The switch hitter has expressed optimism that he will be able to return at some point this week, but it's not clear when or if that will come to fruition. Luisangel Acuna will again start at shortstop and bat ninth for the Mets as Lindor's replacement.

The Pirates recalled Peguero from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old was up in the majors for a couple days in early June but hasn't seen action in the big leagues since last season. Peguero posted a .257/.316/.409 slash line with 13 homers and 15 steals in 128 games with Indianapolis this year.

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 loss to San Francisco.

Perdomo moved up the order to bat second, as Ketel Marte was held out of the starting lineup in a preventative measure. The double was the career-high 21st for Perdomo, who also has career bests in batting average (.276) and slugging percentage (.382). This is not the same hitter that batted .195 in 2022, his first full season in the majors.

Vazquez will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Phillies.

With Dansby Swanson resting in the series opener, Vazquez will pick up his second start in three games but just his second overall since being recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Aug. 23. Vazquez has logged just eight plate appearances between two stints with the Cubs on the season and is still looking for his first MLB hit.

Swanson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Swanson looks to be receiving some routine maintenance after he had been in the lineup for every game dating back to June 14, a stretch of 87 consecutive starts. Unless he's used off the bench, Swanson will put a five-game hitting streak on hold before likely returning to the starting nine Tuesday. Luis Vazquez will fill in for Swanson at shortstop on Monday.
