  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Braves' Orlando Arcia: On bench Game 1

Arcia is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Arcia collected five hits in the first two games of the series in Washington to bust out of a 2-for-30 slump, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's matinee. Nicky Lopez will start at shortstop and bat eighth with Arcia likely to rejoin the lineup in the nigthcap.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Out of Sunday's lineup

Anderson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game at Boston.

Anderson is 0-for-8 with four strikeouts over the past two games and will head to the bench Sunday after making five consecutive starts. Elvis Andrus will shift to shortstop while Zach Remillard receives a start at second base.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Out of Sunday's lineup

Story is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Story went 3-for-4 with a run during the first game of the series versus Chicago, but he's otherwise gone 4-for-34 since Sept. 10 and has a .505 OPS this month. Pablo Reyes will man the keystone and bat seventh Sunday.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Athletics' Nick Allen: Productive out of bottom of order

Allen went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs in a win over the Tigers on Saturday.

Allen was able to set the table nicely for both Esteury Ruiz and Ryan Noda out of his No. 8 spot in the order, coming across to score on the former's third-inning home run and the latter's eighth-inning double. The young shortstop's season slash line is still sitting at an unsightly .208/.252/.269, however, and he has just a single extra-base hit, a double, over his last 22 games.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Picks up two more thefts

De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in a loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

De La Cruz struck out three times in the contest, but he also thrilled after his only hit, following a second-inning single with a pair of steals before coming home to score on a fielder's choice groundout. The game was a pretty good synopsis of his rookie season thus far, as De La Cruz has posted a troublesome 34.3 percent strikeout rate while also notching 33 steals on 41 attempts. He's added a .231/.298/.394 slash line, 11 homers, 14 doubles, six triples, 36 RBI and 62 runs over 92 games.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Ending season on strong note

Tovar went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored Saturday against the Cubs.

Tovar has recorded at least one hit in nine of his last 10 games, a stretch that began with the benefit of his home park but has continued since the Rockies began a road trip Monday. In those 10 games, he has tallied five multi-hit performances and has also racked up nine RBI and six runs scored. Tovar has had an inconsistent rookie season, but he'll end up with double-digit home runs and stolen bases while also topping 70 RBI and runs scored.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Records two steals

Pena went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Royals.

Pena had gone nearly a whole month since his last steal Aug. 25. In the 24 games between thefts, he hit .316 (31-for-98) with 10 extra-base hits, eight RBI and 20 runs scored. The second-year shortstop hasn't matched his power output from 2022, but his walk rate and on-base percentage have risen while his strikeout rate has decreased, indicating a better approach at the plate. For the year, Pena has a .262/.323/.383 slash line with 10 home runs, 13 steals, 51 RBI and 81 runs scored over 143 contests.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Absent from lineup

Peguero isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against the Reds, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Peguero will catch a breather after starting nine straight games, during which he went 7-for-34 with four RBI and two runs scored. Alika Williams will fill in at shortstop and bat ninth while Peguero rests.

  • Marlins' Garrett Hampson: Sitting Saturday

Hampson isn't in the Marlins' lineup Saturday against the Brewers.

Hampson will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-16 with four RBI across his last five games. Jon Berti will fill in at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: On bench Saturday

Baez (back) is not in the lineup Saturday against the Athletics.

Prior to Friday's start, Baez missed three games with back tightness. In his return, he went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. After a solid game at the plate, the shortstop heads back to the bench. Andy Ibanez will play at second base, with Zach McKinstry sliding over to shortstop.
