  • Twins' Victor Caratini: Out of Twins' lineup

Caratini is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.

The switch-hitting Caratini had drawn five straight starts at catcher against right-handed pitching, but he will begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. Alex Jackson is drawing a second consecutive start behind the dish for the Twins.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Heading to injured list

Martinez (foot) will be placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, reports Cade Cracas of Sports Illustrated.

After suffering a left foot bruise, which is now deemed to be a fracture, Saturday and sitting out Sunday's matinee, Martinez will be placed on the 10-day IL. Prior to his injury, Martinez batted .239/.276/.442 with 11 homers and 33 RBI this season. Petey Halpin was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to take Martinez's spot on the active roster.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Dominguez (teeth) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the White Sox.

The Yankees will be cautious with Dominguez after he just had a tooth extracted. The 23-year-old also just came off the injured list June 13 following a shoulder injury, making manager Aaron Boone even more cautious with his outfielder. Cody Bellinger with play left field and Jose Caballero will take over in right field in Dominguez's absence. Dominguez is available off the bench for the Yankees on Tuesday.

  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Nursing moderate hamstring strain

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Grisham has been diagnosed with a "moderate" right hamstring strain, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

Grisham landed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend, and an MRI on Monday revealed the moderate strain. Boone did not offer a specific timetable for Grisham's return, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he's held out through the All-Star break. Spencer Jones and Cody Bellinger will be tasked with holding down center field while Grisham is out.

  • Roman Anthony OF | BOS

Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Follow-up MRI clean

Anthony (finger) underwent a follow-up MRI on Tuesday that came back clean, but he's not yet cleared to swing a bat, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The 22-year-old has attempted to swing a bat a couple times but has felt pain when swinging, so interim manager Chad Tracy said the club is taking it day-by-day with Anthony's progress. The MRI results are an encouraging development, but the young outfielder still has a long way to go before potentially coming off the injured list.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Reinjures calf

The Yankees announced that Stanton (calf) reinjured his calf and will have a slow week of activities, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Stanton has been on the injured list since April 28 and may not be close to coming back anytime soon. Prior to his injury, the 36-year-old was slashing .256/.302/.422 with three homers in 96 plate appearances. The Yankees will likely continue to rotate Ben Rice and Paul Goldschmidt at DH in Stanton's extended absence.

  • Red Sox's Garrett Crochet: Close to playing catch

Crochet (shoulder/lat) began throwing a plyometric ball Tuesday as the first step of his throwing program, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The left-hander is expected to work with the plyo ball for about a week before potentially progressing to a baseball. Crochet continues to work his way back from shoulder inflammation and a lat strain and isn't expected to rejoin the Red Sox until after the All-Star break.

  • Jake Meyers CF | HOU

Astros' Jake Meyers: Out of lineup again Tuesday

Meyers is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

Meyers has now been out of the starting lineup for consecutive games and five times over the Astros' past 12 contests. He's slashing only .220/.277/.339 over 37 contests this season. Brice Matthews will be starting in center field for the second straight day.

  • Collin Price C | HOU

Astros' Collin Price: Sent down to Sugar Land

The Astros optioned Price to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

After a less-than-two-week stint with the big-league club, Price will make his way back down to Sugar Land. In just 13 plate-appearances, the catcher batted .167/.231/.250 with no homers or RBI. Hunter Brown will be reinstated from the 60-day injured list and will replace Price on the active roster.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Reinstated from injured list

The Astros activated Diaz (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Diaz has been sidelined since early May while dealing with a left oblique strain, but he's been cleared to return to the active roster after playing three rehab games with Triple-A Sugar Land. The 27-year-old slashed just .235/.255/.347 with two home runs across 106 plate appearances before getting hurt. Diaz should operate as the Astros' primary catcher moving forward, but Christian Vazquez will also be in the mix.
