Rutschman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox due to a left wrist injury, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Rutschman was excluded from the lineup for Sunday's series finale versus the Astros in what initially appeared to be a routine maintenance day, but Orioles manager Craig Albernaz disclosed following the 5-2 win that the veteran backstop was dealing with wrist discomfort, per Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun. Samuel Basallo (shoulder) will also get the night off after exiting Sunday's game early, so the Orioles will hand Sam Huff a start behind the plate for the series opener in Boston. The Orioles appear to be viewing Rutschman as day-to-day.

Santana (hamstring) began a rehab assignment Friday with the Florida Complex League Rays, Ian Cundall of Baseball America reports.

High-A Bowling Green placed Santana on the 7-day injured list June 6 with a hamstring strain. Known for his slick defense at shortstop, the switch-hitting Santana slashed .309/.379/.393 with a career-high three home runs and career-best 10.3 percent strikeout rate while notching 21 steals in 47 games prior to the injury.

Pierce had left shoulder surgery recently and is likely done for the season, Ian Cundall of Baseball America reports.

Pierce was a league average hitter (100 wRC+) in 34 games for Single-A Charleston prior to the serious shoulder injury. He slashed .252/.336/.390 with four home runs, six steals and a 28.6 percent strikeout rate in 34 games and is expected to have a normal offseason.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.

Gonzalez had been included in the lineup in four of the Red Sox's last five games, but three of those starts came against left-handed pitching. The 29-year-old looks like he'll have to settle for more of a part-time role versus righties, especially while Masataka Yoshida (1.117 OPS in July) is swinging a hot bat.

Gray, who had surgery to remove a bone chip in his right elbow, has gone 1-for-8 through three rehab games in the Florida Complex League.

Per Ian Cundall of Baseball America, Gray should be back in action for Single-A Charleston before the end of the month. Prior to the midseason surgery, Gray slashed .286/.406/.474 with six home runs, four steals, a 21.9 percent strikeout rate and a 16.1 percent walk rate in 49 games. He received just under $1 million when the Rays selected him in the third round in 2025 and won't turn 19 until mid-August.

Witt (back) will start at shortstop and bat second in Monday's game against the Giants.

The All-Star shortstop was held out of the starting nine for Sunday's 19-2 loss to the Padres due to general back tightness, though manager Matt Quatraro emphasized that Witt was merely kept on the bench as a precaution. Witt's back has apparently responded well to the day of rest, and he should be available for the entirety of the Royals' seven-game week, barring an aggravation of the injury.

High-A Greenville transferred Godbout (hand) to the 60-day injured list June 8.

Godbout had left hand surgery after getting hit on the hand by a pitch at the end of May, per Ian Cundall of Baseball America. Prior to the injury, Godbout, 22, slashed .277/.410/.492 with seven home runs, a 13.7 percent walk rate and a 16.8 percent strikeout rate in 34 games for the Drive.

Narvaez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Connor Wong will draw a second straight start behind the dish while Narvaez remains on the bench for the series opener. Narvaez started twice in the Red Sox's four-game series versus the Rays over the weekend, going 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and an additional run.

Kreidler will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Monday's game in Cleveland.

The Twins will include Kreidler in the starting nine for the third game in a row, and he looks poised to operate as the team's everyday shortstop for the time being after Tristan Gray was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday. Kreidler maintains a respectable .738 OPS over 151 plate appearances on the season, but he's slashing just .162/.205/.189 with zero home runs or stolen bases, four runs and one RBI while striking out at a 28.2 percent clip over 12 games thus far in July.

Halpin will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Twins.

Halpin will occupy center field for the fifth time in past six games after he recorded exactly one hit in each of his last four starts while chipping in a pair of steals. He appears to have a grip on a strong-side platoon role in the Cleveland outfield for the time being, though Halpin will be at risk of a move to the bench or a demotion to Triple-A Columbus once Angel Martinez (foot) returns from the 10-day injured list.
