The Rays activated Fraley (hernia) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Fraley is finally ready to return after completing his rehab from May hernia surgery. Victor Mesa has emerged as the Rays' primary right fielder, leaving the 31-year-old Fraley without a clear path to regular playing time.

The Rays placed Wells on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right forearm tightness.

It's a big blow to the Rays' bullpen, as Wells has been lights out since landing in Tampa Bay at the trade deadline, logging a 1.50 ERA and 19:5 K:BB over 18 innings. He will not be eligible to return before the end of the regular season, but Wells expects to be active for the postseason after imaging came back negative, per Ryan Bass of Rays.tv.

The White Sox recalled Schultz from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

The left-hander was sent down in early August after making 15 appearances (14 starts) and posting a 6.06 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 59:31 K:BB across 65.1 innings. Schultz pitched well after being optioned to Charlotte, giving up just four earned runs across 21.2 frames in five outings after the demotion. The 23-year-old should serve as a long-relief option out of the bullpen now that he's back in the majors.

Cleavinger (forearm) has resumed playing catch but still doesn't have a timetable for a return from the 15-day injured list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Cleavinger landed on the IL in early September with left forearm tightness. A timeline for the reliever's return won't come into focus until he's throwing off the mound, and it's unclear when he'll be cleared for that. Cleavinger has logged a 4.79 ERA and 54:22 K:BB over 41.1 frames in 2026.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said recently that McClanahan (forearm) has resumed playing catch but still has "a long way to go" before returning to the active roster, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

McClanahan has been out since early September with left forearm tightness, and while Cash is "encouraged" the southpaw is progressing, the manager is unsure whether the hurler will make it back before the end of the regular season. If McClanahan does make a start later this month, it would likely be during the final week of the regular season and would involve a pitch count.

Murphy will be used as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Tuesday's contest in Cleveland, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Murphy will work the first inning or two before Davis Martin likely takes over in bulk relief. The left-handed Murphy has tossed two scoreless frames with a 5:0 K:BB in his two outings since being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte last week.

Martin will be utilized as a bulk reliever in Tuesday's game versus the Guardians, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

All 26 of Martin's appearances to this point have been traditional starts, but the White Sox have elected to use Chris Murphy in front of Martin as an opener for Tuesday's showdown in Cleveland. Martin has pitched well in two starts since coming back from the injured list, yielding a total of just one run over 10.2 innings.

Teel went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, two RBIs and a run scored Monday against the Guardians.

Teel broke the game open in the sixth inning with a two-run double, helping the White Sox rally for six runs. He has taken a boom-or-bust approach at the plate in 10 games since returning from the injured list, striking out at a 37.5 percent clip but also collecting two home runs, six RBI and four total runs scored in that span.

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored Monday against the Guardians.

Vargas helped break the game open for the White Sox, capping off a six-run sixth inning with his 31st homer of the season. He's had a mediocre start to September, hitting .245 with two homers, five RBI and six runs scored across 13 games. However, Vargas has still been valuable for fantasy purposes by racking up six stolen bases in that span.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with two steals in Monday's 7-3 loss to the White Sox.

Ramirez stole second and third base after reaching on a fielding error in the sixth inning before being stranded at third. The two steals upped his season total to 33.
