  • Royals' Isaac Collins: Idle against lefty

Collins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Collins is a switch hitter, but he's been far more effective against righties (125 wRC+) then lefties (97 wRC+) in his career and could be treated as a quasi-platoon player. He'll hit the bench for the second time in the Royals' three matchups this season versus left-handed starters, as Michael Massey will cover left field in Collins' stead while southpaw Joey Cantillo toes the rubber for the Guardians.

  • Edgar Quero C | CHW

White Sox's Edgar Quero: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Quero is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Orioles.

Quero served as the White Sox's catcher in each of the previous three games, so he will get some rest during Wednesday's matinee. Reese McGuire is doing the catching and batting eighth for the Pale Hose.

  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Exiting starting nine Wednesday

Caglianone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

The left-handed-hitting Caglianone was included in the lineup the last time the Royals faced a lefty starter (Milwaukee's Kyle Harrison) on Sunday, but the 23-year-old will head to the bench for the series finale in Cleveland while southpaw Joey Cantillo takes the hill for Cleveland. Caglianone will give up his usual spot in right field to Starling Marte, who will bat eighth.

  • Trevor Rogers SP | BAL

Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Fans six across six innings

Rogers did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out six over six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Rogers continued his strong start to the season Tuesday, turning in his third consecutive quality start. The 28-year-old's only damage came in the third inning when he allowed three straight hits, but he kept his composure afterward and stranded runners at the corners in both the fifth and sixth to limit further scoring. The left-hander now owns a 1.89 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB across 19 innings of work and will look to keep things rolling in his next scheduled outing against Arizona.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Sitting against southpaw again

Schneemann is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

With the Royals sending a second consecutive lefty starter (Cole Ragans) to the hill, the left-handed-hitting Schneemann will remain out of the lineup for another day. Schneemann could still have a clear path to making regular starts in the middle infield against right-handed pitching following Gabriel Arias' (hamstring) recent placement on the injured list.

  • C.J. Kayfus LF | CLE

Guardians' CJ Kayfus: Hitting bench for series finale

Kayfus is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After starting in right field in Tuesday's 2-1 win while southpaw Noah Cameron took the hill for Kansas City, the left-handed-hitting Kayfus will retreat to the bench for the series finale while the Royals send another lefty (Cole Ragans) to the bump. Chase DeLauter will step in for Kayfus in right field and will bat fifth.

  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Sitting against lefty again

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The left-handed-hitting Manzardo will hit the bench for the second straight game while the Royals send another southpaw (Cole Ragans) to the hill for the series finale. David Fry will replace Manzardo in the starting nine, serving as the Guardians' designated hitter while batting cleanup.

  • Astros' Christian Walker: Launches third homer

Walker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Rockies.

Walker's opposite-field blast off Kyle Freeland in the second inning proved to be the Astros' lone run in the defeat. The first baseman has gotten off to a fast start this season, logging at least one hit in 10 of his first 12 games. In his last four contests, Walker's gone 7-for-19 with three home runs and a 1.323 OPS.

  • Bo Naylor C | MIL

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Receiving afternoon off

Naylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Naylor will take a seat for the second straight day with the Royals sending another lefty (Cole Ragans) to the hill for the series finale. Austin Hedges will catch for starting pitcher Joey Cantillo on Wednesday.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Yankees' Amed Rosario: Goes yard twice in win

Rosario went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the A's.

Starting at third base and batting seventh, Rosario was the unexpected hero for the Yankees, launching a solo shot off Aaron Civale in the second inning before ripping an elevated splitter from Mark Leiter into the left-field seats for a game-winning, three-run blast in the eighth. The 30-year-old infielder has made all four of his appearances this season at the hot corner, going 3-for-10 with five total RBI, and with Ryan McMahon struggling early (2-for-23 with a 37.9 percent strikeout rate), Rosario could find his name in manager Aaron Boone's lineup more often.
