Valera isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Valera will take a seat Saturday after making four straight starts, during which he went 3-for-16 with four RBI and a run scored. While he rests, Angel Martinez, Steven Kwan and David Fry will start across the outfield.

Schneemann isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus Toronto.

Schneemann has logged a base hit in 10 of his last 11 games, but the Guardians will keep him on the bench Saturday while Juan Brito starts at second base and Steven Kwan patrols center field.

Manzardo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

The Guardians will keep Manzardo in the dugout Saturday after he went 3-for-16 with two RBI over his last four games. Rhys Hoskins will fill in as Cleveland's designated hitter and bat fourth.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an RBI single in Friday's 12-4 loss to the Yankees.

Diaz was a bright spot on an otherwise rough evening for Houston. The catcher got the Astros on the board with a two-out, RBI single in the second inning before launching his second home run of the season in the seventh. Diaz is slowly starting to heat up after a slow start to the year -- he has at least one hit in each of his last four contests, going 5-for-16 (.313) with three extra-base hits in that span. Overall, Diaz is batting .213 with a .571 OPS, 12 RBI and three runs scored through his first 80 plate appearances in 2026.

Brash delivered a perfect seventh inning in Friday's 3-2 win over the Cardinals.

Brash has now held opponents without an earned run through his first 11 appearances (9.1 innings) this season, allowing just three hits and two walks. While his strikeout numbers are down (five total punchouts and one in his last 5.1 frames), Brash has proven to be a trustworthy late-inning option ahead of Andres Munoz in the Mariners' bullpen. Brash's four holds are tied with Gabe Speier for the team lead.

The Blue Jays transferred Garcia (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Garcia has been slowly working his way back from a cleanup procedure he underwent on his elbow last year, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure that he remains out until late May. His place on the 40-man roster will be given to Yohendrick Pinango, who was promoted from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

With Nathan Lukes (hamstring) joining Addison Barger (ankle) and George Springer (toe) on the injured list Saturday, Pinango will join the big-league roster for the first time to help replenish Toronto's outfield depth. The 23-year-old prospect has gotten off to a strong start at Buffalo, slashing .288/.370/.488 with three homers, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored through 92 plate appearances. Myles Straw is likely to receive the bulk of starts in the outfield while Toronto navigates injuries, though Pinango could crack the starting nine occasionally against righties.

Shewmake went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Friday's 12-4 loss to the Yankees.

Shewmake's first at-bat with Houston came as a pinch hitter for Carlos Correa in the seventh inning, with the Astros in a 12-3 hole. The 28-year-old infielder responded with his second career MLB homer, a 403-foot blast off Fernando Cruz. Shewmake spent the entire 2024 and 2025 seasons in the Yankees' system -- he slashed .243/.317/.361 with four homers and 15 steals in 85 games last year with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Shewmake figures to remain with the Astros as a bench option until Jeremy Pena (hamstring) and/or Nick Allen (back) return from the IL.

The Blue Jays placed Lukes on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hamstring strain.

Lukes made an early exit from Friday's contest after tweaking his hamstring while hitting a double in the first inning, and he'll now spend time on the IL after imaging revealed a strain. Myles Straw will start in right field for the Blue Jays on Saturday and figures to do so until Lukes or Addison Barger (ankle) return from the IL. Yohendrick Pinango will come up from Triple-A to provide depth in the outfield.

Okamoto went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Guardians.

The third baseman took Gavin Williams deep in the second inning, Okamoto's fourth homer of the season. While the 29-year-old's poor start has been magnified by the exploits of fellow Japanese rookie Munetaka Murakami with the White Sox, Okamoto is beginning to find his footing in North America, recording three multi-hit performances in the last six games while batting .333 (7-for-21) with a double, two homers, five runs and five RBI.
