  • Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Five decent innings in second win

Arrighetti (2-0) notched the win Monday against the Guardians, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Control remained a problem for Arrighetti, who walked four batters in his second consecutive start, but he got plenty of run support and pitched just well enough to keep Cleveland in check. The Astros are hurting for starting pitchers in the early going, as Hunter Brown (shoulder), Tatsuya Imai (arm) and Cristian Javier (shoulder) are all sidelined already, so Arrighetti should stick around in the rotation for a while longer. The right-hander is set to bring a 2.45 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 13:8 K:BB over his first 11 innings into a tough matchup against the Yankees this weekend.

  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Expected to miss time

Manager Joe Espada stated after Monday's game against the Guardians that Trammell (groin) will "be out for a little bit," Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Trammell suffered a left groin injury while running the bases Monday, and it sounds as though he'll require a trip to the injured list. An official move should come at some point Tuesday. Dustin Harris and Brice Matthews could see more time in center field while Trammell is sidelined.

  • Blue Jays' Ricky Tiedemann: Cleared for mound work

Tiedemann (elbow) has been throwing bullpens at Toronto's Player Development Complex in Dunedin, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Tiedemann was shut down from throwing in February after experiencing left elbow soreness. However, he's since gained clearance to resume mound work in mid March and has lately progressed to side sessions. The Blue Jays haven't provided a clear timetable for his return, but he'll report to Triple-A Buffalo once healthy.

  • Shane Bieber SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Tossing bullpen Tuesday

Bieber (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays have yet to provide a concrete timeline for Bieber's return, but the fact that he's tossing another bullpen session Tuesday is a sign that he's continuing to make his way through his throwing progression. Tuesday's side session will be his fourth since getting the green light to resume mound work. Bieber will presumably advance to facing hitters in the near future.

  • Jose Berrios SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Jose Berrios: Making next rehab start Wednesday

Berrios (elbow) will make his next rehab start Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Berrios is in line for his second rehab start after working 2.2 innings for Single-A Dunedin on Thursday. He fired 47 pitches during Thursday's appearance, so it's fair to expect him to stretch out a bit more during Wednesday's outing. It remains to be seen whether Berrios will need an additional rehab start after Wednesday before being activated from the 15-day injured list.

  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Diagnosed with groin injury

Trammell left Monday's game against the Guardians due to a left groin injury, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports.

Trammell was forced to depart Monday's matchup after suffering an injury while running the bases. The team has yet to disclose the severity of the injury, so he can be considered day-to-day until further notice.

  • Rays' Jadher Areinamo: Returns to health at Double-A

Areinamo (hamstring) has gone 4-for-18 with two home runs and three RBI in four games since being activated from Double-A Montgomery's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Areinamo didn't see much action during spring training before suffering a hamstring injury in late February, but he's put on a power display since being cleared to make his 2026 debut for Montgomery. He's already halfway to his home-run total from last season at Double-A, as Areinamo slugged four long balls in 37 games for Montgomery following his acquisition from the Brewers last July.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Continuing to ramp up

Springer (toe) will throw, hit and participate in mobility drills Monday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Springer was placed on the 10-day injured list April 12 after being diagnosed with a fracture left big toe, but he's already made impressive progress in his recovery. He was cleared to resume hitting off a tee Wednesday, and he'll engage in additional baseball activities Monday. Skipper John Schneider specified that Springer will do some "dynamic warmup and mobility stuff" in addition to throwing and hitting, per Mae. The veteran outfielder isn't expected to require a rehab assignment, and if all continues to go according to plan, he could return during Toronto's upcoming homestand, which runs from Friday until April 29.

  • Yimi Garcia RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Cleared for live BP

Garcia (elbow) will throw live batting practice Wednesday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Garcia will take another step forward in his rehab Wednesday by going up against live batters for the first time since undergoing surgery to clean up scar tissue around his right elbow. If all goes well in his first live BP session, he could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the minors shortly after.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Progressing in recovery

Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Monday that Barger (ankles) will start running Tuesday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Barger continues to progress in his recovery from sprained left and right ankles, and he has done enough to be cleared to start running. He may not need to embark on a rehab assignment and could be back with the Blue Jays for the start of their homestand Friday against the Guardians.
