Single-A Tampa placed Kilby on the 7-day injured list with a hamstring strain, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.

Kilby suffered the injury during spring training, but Callis notes that Kilby should return soon. Assuming he puts the injury behind him, Kilby could make waves in the lower levels of the minors this year after he hit .353 with 16 steals in 18 games at Single-A last year after getting drafted out of high school with the No. 39 overall pick.

The Red Sox optioned Uberstine to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.

Uberstine was unlikely to be available to pitch for another day or two after tossing 2.2 innings and 45 pitches in relief during Sunday's loss to the Padres, so the Red Sox will send him back to the minors to clear room on the active roster for right-hander Garrett Whitlock (personal), who was reinstated from the paternity list. Once he's back in Worcester, Uberstine will likely settle back into the rotation after making his MLB debut out of the bullpen.

Martinez is sidelined at Single-A Delmarva due to a hamstring injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Martinez has not been placed on the injured list, but he has not played in a game yet this season for the Shorebirds. The 18-year-old outfielder hit .125 with a 48.4 percent strikeout rate in 25 games at Single-A last year, but he has always logged high walk rates while being young for his levels, and there is plus raw power potential as he fills out his 6-foot-4 frame.

The Red Sox reinstated Whitlock (personal) from the paternity leave list Monday.

Boston sent out right-hander Tyler Uberstine to Triple-A Worcester to clear room on the active roster for Whitlock, who spent the maximum three days away from the Red Sox while observing the birth of his child. The 29-year-old right-hander should return to a high-leverage role in the Boston bullpen.

The White Sox claimed Nikhazy off waivers from the Guardians on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.

Nikhazy was buried on the Guardians' starting pitching depth chart, but he should have a better chance at emerging as a big-league rotation option for the White Sox at some point later on in 2026. The southpaw made two appearances in the majors for Cleveland last season but otherwise spent the entire campaign at Triple-A Columbus, producing a 5.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 87:43 K:BB across 86 innings.

Double-A Chesapeake placed Watts-Brown on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a shoulder injury, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

The 24-year-old righty came over from Toronto for Seranthony Dominguez at last year's trade deadline. Watts-Brown has a 3.62 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 96:38 K:BB in 87 innings at Double-A.

Schneemann is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Schneemann has served in a super utility role for the Guardians this season but will take a seat in the series opener versus Kansas City. Steven Kwan will slide over to center field and CJ Kayfus will get the call in left field.

Duran is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

He'll take a seat for the second time in the Red Sox's first 10 games of the season as manager Alex Cora makes room in the lineup for Masataka Yoshida, who will serve as Boston's designated hitter in the series opener. Duran is one of multiple Boston hitters who has yet to get going at the dish amid the team's 2-7 start to the season; he's mustered a .200/.314/.267 slash line with zero home runs and two stolen bases over his 35 plate appearances.

The Astros designated Munoz for assignment Monday.

A Rule 5 selection over the winter, Munoz won a spot in the Houston bullpen coming out of spring training but will wind up losing his spot on the 40-man roster less than two weeks into the season after yielding seven earned runs over four innings across three appearances. Assuming he clears waivers, Houston will need to offer the 25-year-old righty back to Cincinnati.

Fortes will start at catcher and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Cubs, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

After taking a seat in favor of Hunter Feduccia in both of the Rays' previous two games, Fortes will be back behind the dish Monday in the team's home opener. Fortes has been the more productive of the Rays' two catchers in the early going, producing a .967 OPS over 27 plate appearances.
