Flaherty did not factor into the decision in Friday's 7-5 loss to the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Flaherty threw just 49 of 83 pitches for strikes and allowed runs in four separate innings. It continued an up-and-down second half for the 29-year-old, who has surrendered four or more earned runs in four of his past nine outings while holding opponents to one run or fewer in another four. He'll carry a 4.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 171:54 K:BB across 146.2 innings into a road matchup with the Yankees next week.

Smith (5-7) earned the win against the Tigers on Friday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings.

Smith threw just 53 of 91 pitches for strikes but generated an impressive 15 whiffs and received strong support from the White Sox offense. Though he fell short of a third consecutive quality start, the 25-year-old has now completed at least five innings in six straight outings. He'll carry a 3.95 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 118:52 K:BB across 125.1 innings into a home matchup with the Rays next week.

Leasure earned the save in Friday's 7-5 win over the Tigers, striking out two while retiring all five batters he faced.

Leasure was summoned with two runners on in the eighth inning and was perfect in delivering a five-out save. The 27-year-old has been strong since the All-Star break, converting all five of his save chances with a 3.05 ERA and 30:6 K:BB over 21 appearances. For the year, he's tallied seven saves and 11 holds while posting a 3.95 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 70:27 K:BB across 54.2 innings.

Lopez (5-4) took the loss Friday against the Royals, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out four.

Lopez was sharp in his first major-league start since June 3, working six strong innings in his return from the injured list. The right-hander has now tossed at least five frames in all but one of his 12 outings in 2025, and he's given up greater than two runs on just two occasions all year. Lopez threw 92 pitches Friday, so he shouldn't have any workload restrictions in his next scheduled appearance against the Diamondbacks. For the campaign, he has a 2.85 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 65:15 K:BB.

Wacha (9-11) notched the win Friday against the Twins, allowing one run on four hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

After failing to throw at least five innings for just the third time all season his last time out, Wacha returned to form Friday to toss 5.2 strong frames. The five strikeouts were his most since his Aug. 1 start in Toronto, and the four hits allowed were his fewest also since that same outing against the Blue Jays. The veteran right-hander has a quality 3.45 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 117:41 K:BB over 28 appearances, and he's next set to take the ball for a pivotal matchup against the division-rival Guardians.

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.

Montgomery was a consistent contributor Friday, driving in runs in the first and fifth innings before capping his night with a two-run homer in the seventh. The 23-year-old has gone deep eight times in his past 12 games, piling up 18 RBI during that stretch. Through just 204 major-league plate appearances, he's slashing .232/.296/.562 with 18 home runs, 46 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Meadows went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-5 loss to the White Sox.

Meadows homered in his first at-bat since July 27 and later added a walk before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. It was an encouraging showing for the talented 25-year-old, who's slashing .206/.281/.325 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 16 runs scored and three steals across 139 plate appearances this season.

Witt was removed from Friday's game against the Twins with lower-back spasms.

Witt had gone 0-for-3 with a strikeout before his back forced him to make an early exit ahead of the seventh inning. It remains to be seen whether the star infielder will need to miss any starts due to his injury, which would likely lead to more playing time for Nick Loftin or Tyler Tolbert.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

O'Hoppe will yield to Travis d'Arnaud behind the plate Friday after making three consecutive starts. O'Hoppe went 1-for-12 (.083) with six strikeouts during that three-start stretch.

The Red Sox placed Hicks on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 4, due to right shoulder tendinitis.

As expected, Hicks will hit the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder injury deemed to be tendinitis. The right-hander has surrendered at least one run in each of his last three appearances, including a four-run outing Wednesday across one-third of an inning. Chris Murphy was recalled from Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move.
