Kyle Isbel CF | KC
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Out of Wednesday's lineup
Isbel (foot) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
The left-handed-hitting Isbel had to depart Tuesday's contest because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, though there's a good chance he would not have started Wednesday even if he were healthy, as southpaw MacKenzie Gore is on the bump for the Rangers. Lane Thomas will patrol center field for Kansas City.

Tristan Gray SS | MIN
Twins' Tristan Gray: Taking seat against southpaw
Gray is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
The left-handed-hitting Gray will take a seat for the second time in three games while the Twins face off against another left-handed starting pitcher (Framber Valdez). Orlando Arcia will get the nod at shortstop in place of Gray, who is also facing competition for reps at the position from Ryan Kreidler since Brooks Lee shifted over to third base on a full-time basis a few weeks ago.

Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Twins' Kody Clemens: Left out of lineup vs. lefty
Clemens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Clemens will hit the bench after going 8-for-20 with three solo home runs, two doubles, a stolen base and three additional runs while starting in each of the Twins' last five games. Royce Lewis will get the nod at first base in place of Clemens as the Twins stock up on an extra right-handed bat to counter Tigers southpaw Framber Valdez.

Trevor Larnach LF | MIN
Twins' Trevor Larnach: Idle against southpaw
Larnach is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
The Twins will hold the left-handed-hitting Larnach out of the lineup Wednesday while southpaw Framber Valdez takes the mound for the Tigers. In place of Larnach, Ryan Kreidler will pick up a start in left field and will bat eighth.

Samuel Basallo C | BAL
Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Absent from Baltimore lineup
Basallo (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Basallo pinch hit each of the last two days, but he will be out of the starting nine for a third straight day as he deals with discomfort in his left wrist brought about by a bony growth. Adley Rutschman (hamstring) is also out again Wednesday, leaving catching duties to Sam Huff and the designated hitter role to Tyler O'Neill.

Victor Caratini C | MIN
Twins' Victor Caratini: Hitting bench Wednesday
Caratini is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Minnesota will go with Alex Jackson behind the plate for the second game of the series while Caratini rests up. Caratini saw an eight-game hitting streak come to an end with an 0-for-5 showing in Tuesday's 10-4 loss.

Adley Rutschman C | BAL
Orioles' Adley Rutschman: Remains out of lineup
Rutschman (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Mariners.
Rutschman will miss out on a third straight start while he deals with tightness in his left hamstring, but he felt well enough to test out the injury by doing some pregame running on the field before rain began to fall at Camden Yards, per Jake Rill of MLB.com. The Orioles are considering the 28-year-old day-to-day, but he'll need to improve in a hurry in order to avoid a trip to the injured list. Sam Huff will start at catcher for the Orioles on Wednesday.

Chris Murphy RP | CHW
White Sox's Chris Murphy: Summoned to big leagues
The White Sox recalled Murphy from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
He's taking the roster spot vacated by the injured Tyler Gilbert (shoulder). Murphy has given up seven runs with a 9:8 K:BB over 9.1 frames during his time in the Chicago bullpen this season. He'll likely be used in low-leverage spots while up with the White Sox.
