Duran started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 14-2 loss to Toronto.

Duran stepped in at second base for the injured Marcus Semien (wrist), who was hit by a pitch Friday and held out Saturday. X-rays on Semien's wrist came back negative, and he'll be re-evaluated ahead of Sunday's series finale. While Duran can play multiple positions, second base is not high on his list of appearances. He's played 22 games there during his career, and only twice this season.

Kayfus went 1-for-4 in Saturday's 10-1 loss to Atlanta.

Kayfus, who got off to a strong start in the majors, has hit the skids of late. Over the last six games, the rookie has gone 2-for-18 (.111) with a 25.0 percent strikeout rate. Overall, Kayfus has struck out 14 times in 44 plate appearances (31.8 percent).

Caballero went 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs and two stolen bases against the Cardinals in a 12-8 victory Saturday.

Caballero started in right field for the second straight game, as Giancarlo Stanton got another day off. The speedy utility player has taken advantage of the sudden opportunity, reaching base six times over nine plate appearances while swiping four bases. Given that production, he may begin to see his playing time tick up -- in fact, Caballero is back in the lineup Sunday, this time starting at shortstop in place of Anthony Volpe.

Rocchio went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 10-1 loss to Atlanta.

Rocchio swatted his second home run of the season in the third inning, when the game was still close. He's hit safely in seven of the last eight contests, going 8-for-27 (.296) with a double, a homer, two steals and four RBI during that stretch. Following a shaky start to the season that resulted in him being sent back down to the minors, Rocchio has hit well since his return. He's produced a .760 OPS over 40 contests since early July and settled in as team's primary second baseman.

McMahon went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 12-8 win against St. Louis on Saturday

McMahon extended New York's lead to three runs with his seventh-inning blast. The long ball was the veteran third baseman's first since he was traded from Colorado to the Yankees in late July. In 20 games with his new club, McMahon has slashed .250/.370/.367 with four doubles, seven RBI, eight runs and an 11:20 BB:K.

Mayer will require season-ending surgery on his sprained right wrist, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Shortly after being placed on the 10-day injured list July 25, Mayer received an anti-inflammatory shot, but the rookie's wrist didn't respond as well as the Red Sox had hoped. The 22-year-old has opted for a permanent fix for the injury and is expected to face a three-month recovery, per Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald. Mayer should be back to full health ahead of spring training, when he'll likely have to compete for a starting role after slashing just .228/.272/.402 with four home runs over his first 44 big-league games.

Lynch (5-2) earned the win Saturday against the White Sox. He allowed a hit and no walks with no strikeouts over two scoreless innings.

The southpaw came on in relief after Michael Lorenzen worked four innings in his return from the IL. Since returning from the injured list himself with an elbow injury Aug. 3, Lynch has posted a 3.48 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across six appearances, picking up two wins over 10.1 innings.

Hernaiz went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 7-2 victory over the Angels.

Hernaiz played a role in Saturday's win, delivering a two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded off Tyler Anderson in the third inning. The infielder has seen fairly consistent playing time since Jacob Wilson went down with a forearm injury and has made the most of it, posting a .758 OPS through 16 games at the big-league level this season.

The Orioles transferred Eflin (back) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Eflin is out for the season after the Orioles confirmed that he would undergo back surgery during the upcoming week, so his move to the 60-day IL is merely procedural. The veteran right-hander is expected to face a 4-to-8 month recovery from surgery, so his availability for the start of the 2026 season is in question. The 31-year-old is set to become a free agent this winter.

Vest tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Twins. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two.

Vest recorded the last out of the seventh inning and then worked the eighth against the top of Minnesota's order to earn his second hold of the season, with Kyle Finnegan covering the ninth for the save. Before Saturday, Vest had rattled off two straight saves, but Finnegan had three consecutive saves prior to that. It appears that both relievers will see ninth-inning work with Vest as the higher-leverage option, giving them each fantasy value but capping their respective ceilings. Vest still leads the Tigers with 18 saves in 23 opportunities.
