  • Royals' Jac Caglianone: Ready to go Tuesday

Caglianone (shoulder) is back in the lineup for the series opener against the Rangers on Tuesday.

Caglianone was removed from Saturday's game against Minnesota with right shoulder soreness, and he missed Sunday's series finale. On the season, the 23-year-old has slashed .250/.326/.403 with six homers and 15 RBI in 218 plate appearances. Caglianone will play right field and bat sixth Tuesday.

  • Daulton Varsho CF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: MRI returns clean

Manager John Schneider said that Varsho, who is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, had an MRI on his left wrist come back negative, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The skipper also said that Varsho is still feeling "a little bit sore" as he misses a fourth straight start due to wrist inflammation, and the Blue Jays are waiting for some more feedback from a hand specialist before deciding the next steps. The club would like to avoid placing the 30-year-old on the injured list, but there may not be much of a choice if his absence extends much longer.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Good to go Tuesday

Perez (thumb) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Texas.

After missing the last two matchups due to a thumb injury, Perez is back and ready to go on Tuesday. The 36-year-old has had a down season to say the least, as he is currently slashing just .204/.254/.345 with nine homers and 26 RBI in 256 plate appearances. Perez will bat fifth and act as the designated hitter in Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

  • Lazaro Estrada RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Lazaro Estrada: Completes third rehab appearance

Estrada (shoulder) struck out three over three perfect innings of relief Sunday in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo.

After working as a starter in his first two rehab appearances between Single-A Dunedin and Buffalo, Estrada shifted to the bullpen for his third minor-league outing. While piggybacking starter Grant Rogers, Estrada was sharp Sunday, needing just 29 pitches to record nine outs. Estrada is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list at any point, but the Blue Jays may continue to keep him on assignment for another appearance or two if they intend to get him stretched out further.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Back in lineup Tuesday

Witt (knee) is back in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

After exiting Sunday's game early with right knee soreness, Witt is good to go for Tuesday's matchup against righty Nathan Eovaldi. Before going down on Sunday, the 25-year-old had recorded five hits and three walks in his past four games. Witt will play shortstop and bat second for the Royals.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Royals' Josh Rojas: Optioned back to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Rojas to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Rojas made one start in his handful of days with the big club, collecting one hit in five plate appearances. He's being scrubbed from the active roster in order to make room for Stephen Kolek (personal), who will start Tuesday's game versus the Rangers.

  • Royals' Stephen Kolek: Reinstated ahead of Tuesday's start

The Royals activated Kolek from the family medical emergency list Tuesday.

Kolek was away from the club for a few days while tending to a personal matter, but he's back in time to start Tuesday's contest at home versus the Rangers. The right-hander has logged a 3.32 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB over 38 innings covering six starts for Kansas City this season.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Exiting starting lineup

Springer is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Springer went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Monday's series opener and is hitless over his last three contests, so he'll get a day to regroup. Vladimir Guerrero will get a day at designated hitter, and Charles McAdoo will play first base.

  • Adam Macko RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Adam Macko: Optioned to Buffalo

The Blue Jays optioned Macko to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, reports Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.

Macko will make his way back down to Triple-A after being called up May 17. With the big-league club, the 25-year-old posted a 1.50 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB in 12 innings. Macko will be demoted to Buffalo in order to make room for Dylan Cease (hamstring) on the active roster.

  • Daulton Varsho CF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Held out again Tuesday

Varsho (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Phillies.

It's his fourth straight absence from the starting nine as Varsho continues to deal with left wrist inflammation. The Blue Jays have been optimistic that Varsho will be able to avoid a stint on the injured list, but he'll need to be game-ready soon or the club will have no choice but to make a transaction. Nathan Lukes is in center field for Toronto on Tuesday.
