  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Not in lineup Tuesday

Walls is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Walls has dealt with a hamstring issue this month, but this seems to be a routine day of rest. Ben Williamson will draw the start at shortstop for the Rays.

  • Wenceel Perez RF | DET

Tigers' Wenceel Perez: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Perez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Perez started the previous two games and has a .934 OPS with six extra-base hits (four homers) in his past 11 contests, but he'll take a seat for Tuesday's series opener. Kerry Carpenter is manning right field while Colt Keith handles the DH spot for Detroit.

  • Colt Emerson SS | SEA

Mariners' Colt Emerson: Held out again Tuesday

Emerson (back) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

Emerson had to be scratched from Monday's lineup due to back tightness. With southpaw Trevor Rogers starting for the Orioles, it makes sense for the Mariners to give the left-handed-hitting Emerson at least one more day. Cole Young will again shift over to shortstop, and Ryan Bliss will start at second base.

  • Rays' Jonathan Aranda: Exiting starting lineup

Aranda is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Red Sox.

The left-handed-hitting Aranda has been an everyday player for the Rays this season, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Red Sox send southpaw Payton Tolle to the bump. Ryan Vilade will play first base and bat cleanup for Tampa Bay.

  • Rays' Chandler Simpson: Returning to lineup Tuesday

Simpson (thumb) will start in left field and bat third in Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Simpson missed the past three games while battling left thumb soreness, but he appeared in Monday's contest as a pinch runner and is feeling well enough to give it a go Tuesday in a full-time capacity. The speedster is in the midst of a 1-for-21 slide at the plate.

  • Guardians' Patrick Bailey: Taking seat Tuesday

Bailey is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Yankees.

Bailey started behind the dish for each of the Guardians' last three contests but will begin Tuesday's game on the bench. Austin Hedges will start at catcher and hit eighth as Cleveland looks to even the series.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Grabbing seat Tuesday

Schneemann is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Yankees.

Schneemann started each of the previous four tilts but will take a seat Tuesday. Steven Kwan will be in center field for the Guardians, and Rhys Hoskins is netting a start at designated hitter.

  • Dax Kilby SS | NYY

Yankees' Dax Kilby: Hamstring acting up

Kilby went 0-for-2 with one strikeout in a rehab game in the Florida Complex League on May 28 but has not appeared in a rehab game since as he deals with a nagging hamstring injury, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.

Kilby seemingly aggravated the hamstring in his one and only rehab game, as he's been missing in action for two weeks since then. Kilby showed an exciting set of tools in his brief pro debut last year, hitting .353 with 16 steals and a 108.9-mph max EV in 18 games at Single-A. He turns 20 in November.

  • Rikuu Nishida RF | CHW

White Sox's Rikuu Nishida: Returns to Triple-A

The White Sox optioned Nishida to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old was called up last week by Chicago and produced a .241/.241/.241 slash line across 30 plate appearances in his first taste of the majors. Nishida could get another look later in the season, but he'll return to Charlotte for now while top prospect Braden Montgomery joins the big club.

  • Joe Rock RP | CHW

White Sox's Joe Rock: Promoted Tuesday

The White Sox recalled Rock from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

The left-hander was acquired from the Rays in exchange for Oliver Dunn in mid-May and is now on the cusp of his White Sox debut. Rock hasn't been particularly effective at the Triple-A level this year with a 4.88 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB across 24 innings between the two organizations.
