Paredes (hamstring) said after Saturday's game against the Mariners that he's returning to Houston to undergo an MRI on Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old departed Saturday's contest due to right hamstring discomfort and also said the injury feels worse than the left hamstring issue that sidelined him for a few games earlier this season. Manager Joe Espada said that the injury "doesn't look very good," per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle, so it wouldn't be surprising if a trip to the injured list is necessary. The Astros travel to Arizona on Monday to continue their road trip, and Paredes is likely to be out for at least the next couple days since he's travelling back to Houston for the evaluation.

Wilson went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run against Cleveland in an 8-2 victory Saturday.

Wilson took part in a late Athletics power barrage with a two-run blast in the ninth inning. The rookie phenom wasn't projected to hit for much power coming into the campaign after failing to go deep over 103 plate appearances last year, but he's shown a bit of pop with 10 home runs through 89 contests. Add those to a .327/.369/.461 slash line, 44 RBI, 45 runs and five steals, and Wilson has emerged as a leading contender for AL Rookie of the Year honors.

Bazardo (4-0) notched the win and threw a clean 11th inning in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Astros. He struck out two.

While Bazardo remains well out of contention for save opportunities behind All-Star closer Andres Munoz, the former has been very effective overall when summoned from Seattle's bullpen. Bazardo owned a 6.35 ERA through April 17, but he's produced an excellent 1.83 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 38:17 K:BB over his last 39.1 innings (34 outings).

Walker went 2-for-4 with two walks, two RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Mariners.

Walker had gone 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts over his previous three games. Prior to that brief slump wrapped around the All-Star break, the first baseman hit safely in 10 of 11 games between June 26 and July 11. It's been a bumpy first year in Houston for the 34-year-old, but he's been steadier recently. He's at a .229/.289/.371 slash line with 12 home runs, 49 RBI, 37 runs scored and one steal through 92 contests.

Kurtz went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, three total runs and two total RBI in Saturday's 8-2 win over Cleveland.

All three of Kurtz's hits went for extra bases, and he knocked in both his team's first run (on a double in the fourth inning) and final run (on a solo shot in the ninth). The talented rookie is in the midst of a six-game hitting streak, going 11-for-23 with eight extra-base hits (including four homers) and eight RBI during that span. Kurtz is a serious candidate for AL Rookie of the Year honors -- he has a .270/.342/.591 slash line with 18 home runs, 47 RBI and one stolen base through 60 games.

Caratini went 3-for-4 with two walks, one RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Mariners.

Caratini has hit safely in eight straight games, going 11-for-31 (.355) in that span. The steal was his first since the 2023 campaign -- he was caught stealing on his only attempt in 2024. The catcher has hit his way into the lineup on a regular basis, playing either behind the dish or at designated hitter while sharing both positions with fellow backstop Yainer Diaz. Caratini is up to a .265/.316/.439 slash line with 10 home runs, 33 RBI, 24 runs scored and nine doubles through 247 plate appearances. He's always had a decent bat for a catcher, but the 31-year-old is on pace for career highs in nearly every counting stat this year if he can continue to see steady playing time.

Altuve went 3-for-5 with a double, one walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Mariners.

The Astros put together a 12-hit attack, but Altuve's double was the only extra-base hit of the bunch. This was his eighth multi-hit effort across 14 games in July for Altuve, and the veteran is batting .381 (21-for-55) with 10 extra-base hits and 17 RBI this month. That hot stretch has him up to a .279/.337/.464 slash line with 17 home runs, 53 RBI, 52 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and six stolen bases through 95 contests this season. Altuve continues to pick up time in left field while Brice Matthews gets a look at second base during his first major-league stint, though Matthews has gone just 1-for-12 over his first four games.

Langeliers went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two total runs and three total RBI in an 8-2 victory versus the Guardians on Saturday.

Langeliers contributed an RBI double in the fourth inning and a two-run homer in the eighth. In two games since the All-Star break, the talented young catcher has gone 5-for-9 with two homers, two doubles, four runs and five RBI. Langeliers is up to 14 long balls on the campaign, tied for fifth most among big-league backstops.

Thornton threw a clean seventh inning in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Astros. He struck out one.

Although he has just five holds this season, Thornton is beginning to settle in following a dreadful start to the year that saw him hold a 7.71 ERA as of June 10. The right-hander has worked multiple innings for the Mariners in five of his last 11 outings, during which sports a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB covering 17 frames.

McCullers allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out one over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Saturday.

McCullers has failed to finish four innings in three of his last four appearances and in five of 11 starts overall this year. He was at 75 pitches (41 strikes) when he was pulled during the Mariners' third-inning rally Saturday. McCullers kept the ball in the yard for the first time in five starts, but he's still giving up too many baserunners -- he's issued 17 walks over his last 20 innings. For the season, he's at a 6.90 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 50:29 K:BB through 44.1 innings. The right-hander is lined up for a home start versus the Athletics next week.
