Altuve went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional RBI in Sunday's 5-1 win versus the Dodgers.

The Houston veteran tallied his team's final run with a 373-foot solo shot off Los Angeles reliever Anthony Banda in the ninth. Altuve, who has played at second base in 11 of his past 13 games, is now riding a five-game hit streak during which he's recorded three multi-hit efforts. Through 371 total plate appearances, the 35-year-old is slashing .272/.332/.457 with 48 runs scored and 46 RBI while going 6-for-12 on steal attempts across 87 games.

Short went 3-for-3 with a double, one RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Dodgers.

Short garnered his second consecutive start at shortstop and made the most of it, notching his first three-hit performance since June 21, 2023 when he was a Tiger. The 30-year-old journeyman joined the Astros on July 2 after slashing .211/.356/.402 with 12 homers over 73 Triple-A games. Short will likely be in the mix for occasional appearances in the Houston infield while Jeremy Pena (rib), Brendan Rodgers (oblique) and Luis Guillorme (hamstring) all remain on the injured list.

The Tigers promoted Clark from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie on Sunday.

Clark will move up to Double-A after slashing .285/.430/.427 with seven home runs and 12 stolen bases over 68 games with West Michigan. The 20-year-old outfielder will make the jump to Erie along with two of the Tigers' other top prospects in shortstop Kevin McGonigle and catcher Josue Briceno.

Gusto (6-3) allowed one run on four hits and one walk over six innings to pick up the win in Sunday's contest against the Dodgers. He struck out one.

The Houston right-hander was favored over Colton Gordon to start the series finale at Los Angeles. Gusto impressed in this 80-pitch appearance, generating a solid 13 whiffs despite striking out just one. The only blemish on his outing came in the second inning via a Dalton Rushing RBI double, as Gusto notched his second quality start of the season. Given this solid performance against the league's top scoring offense, the 26-year-old is likely to garner another turn in the rotation before the All-Star break. If Gusto continues to start, his next outing would line up to come against the Rangers at home next weekend.

Perez went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a hit-by-pitch in Sunday's 4-0 win against the Diamondbacks.

The 35-year-old reached double-digit homers for the 13th consecutive season when he slugged a 415-foot solo shot off Arizona starter Anthony DeSclafani in the fourth. The long ball snapped an 11-game homerless draught over which Perez hit .227 (10-for-44) with eight RBI and no runs scored. Through 358 total plate appearances, the veteran is slashing .235/.277/.393 with 50 RBI and 20 runs scored in 86 games.

Caglianone went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, a steal and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 victory at Arizona.

The Kansas City rookie notched his first career steal off Arizona starter Anthony DeSclafani in the fifth inning after reaching on a hit-by-pitch. Caglianone hadn't been much of a speed threat prior to joining the Royals, as he swiped only four bags across 79 minor-league games before his promotion. The 22-year-old has struggled mightily in his first taste of the big leagues with just two homers and a .148/.200/.241 slash line across 115 plate appearances.

Meyers exited Sunday's 5-1 win over the Dodgers in the bottom of the sixth inning due to right calf tightness, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Meyers was removed from the game because the team wanted to be "cautious" with the outfielder, according to manager Joe Espada. Before leaving, Meyers went 1-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. He can be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's series opener against Cleveland.

Lorenzen (5-8) earned the win in Sunday's game at Arizona, allowing two hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

The Kansas City right-hander produced an astounding 17 whiffs in this 82-pitch outing to tally his first win since June 8. With this performance, Lorenzen notched his seventh quality start of the season and matched his season best with seven Ks, a mark he reached four times prior to Sunday. The 33-year-old lowered his season ERA from 4.95 to 4.61 across 99.2 frames to go with a 1.30 WHIP and 85:29 K:BB. Lorenzen currently lines up to make his next start against the Mets at home next weekend.

The Tigers promoted McGonigle from High-A West Michigan to Double-A Erie on Sunday.

McGonigle had been on a tear since late May after returning from a stint on the 7-day injured list, producing a 371/.464/.643 slash line with seven home runs and three stolen bases in his last 35 games with West Michigan. The 20-year-old shortstop is viewed as one of Detroit's top overall prospects, and with a strong showing at Erie to close out the season, he could put himself in the mix for a promotion to the big leagues at some point in 2026.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Sunday that Gimenez (ankle) will be confined to a walking boot for the next 5-to-7 days before being re-evaluated, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Gimenez was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left ankle sprain that he suffered in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Angels. The Blue Jays aren't yet offering up a timeline for Gimenez's return, but if he's able to quickly resume baseball activities once he sheds the boot, he could have a chance at coming off the IL when the team opens its post-All-Star-break schedule July 18 versus the Giants. Leo Jimenez filled in for Gimenez at second base in Sunday's 3-2 victory in the series finale with the Angels, but Will Wagner and Davis Schneider could end up being the main winners from a playing-time standpoint for the duration of Gimenez's absence.
