Chisholm (head) will start at second base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

After taking the brunt of a collision with teammate Jasson Dominguez in the fourth inning of Monday's 7-3 loss, Chisholm exited the game and was placed in concussion protocol. The 28-year-old was never officially diagnosed with a concussion and didn't experience anything more than soreness following the collision, but the Yankees held him out of the lineup Tuesday since he still needed to pass one more medical test. Now seemingly in the clear on the health front, Chisholm will rejoin the starting nine for the series finale and should handle an everyday role moving forward.

Rooker was re-evaluated at Stanford for his knee injury Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Rooker landed on the injured list June 12 due to a bone bruise in his left knee and has progressed slowly in his rehab, beginning a running and swinging progression Monday. "I wouldn't say that his progress has stopped," Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said Tuesday. "... it hasn't progressed as efficient as we'd like. So he's down there going through another exam." More clarity regarding Rooker's status and recovery timeline should come following the results of his latest evaluation.

The Tigers recalled Brieske from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Brieske was sent down last month after coughing up six runs with a 4:4 K:BB over 4.1 innings following a return from an adductor strain. He was unscored upon in his last four appearances with Toledo and will likely fill a middle-relief role in Detroit.

The Blue Jays placed Springer on the paternity leave list Wednesday.

Springer appeared poised to go on paternity leave this past weekend, but he ended up sticking around with the Blue Jays for a few extra days. He'll now take some time away from the team to welcome the new addition to his family, with MLB rules requiring Springer to remain on paternity leave for between 1-to-3 days. Toronto recalled outfielder Jonatan Clase from Triple-A Buffalo to temporarily take Springer's spot on the active roster.

The Tigers placed Vest on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with posterior right elbow inflammation.

Vest was touched up for three runs (two earned) in an inning of work in his last appearance Saturday against the Astros, and it seems he came out of that outing with a sore elbow. He will be eligible for activation at the start of the second half, but with the nature of the injury it's possible Vest needs more time. Vest has logged two saves for Detroit this season, posting a 6.08 ERA and 27:10 K:BB over 26.2 frames in the process.

Guerrero (back) will start at first base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

The Blue Jays scratched Guerrero from the lineup prior to Tuesday's 3-0 loss after he experienced back tightness, but the issue seems to have resolved itself after a day off. Given the high price fantasy managers paid for him at the draft table, Guerrero still looks like a must-start player in the majority of leagues despite having been a major disappointment thus far with a .268 average, four home runs, six stolen bases, 34 RBI and 45 runs through 81 games.

The Rangers recalled Smith from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Smith has hit only .218/.316/.248 during his time with the Rangers this season and has also missed time with injuries. He slashed just .224/.309/.397 in 14 games with Round Rock, but the Rangers could use Smith's versatility as they navigate injuries.

The Rangers placed Seager on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to lower-back inflammation.

Seager returned from the 7-day injured list last week after recovering from a concussion, but a back issue that will send him to the IL this time. The shortstop missed a month of action with a back injury earlier this season, but it's unclear at this point how long his upcoming stint on the shelf might last. Ezequiel Duran will likely serve as the Rangers' primary shortstop while Seager is sidelined.

Yoshida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

He'll be on the bench Wednesday while southpaw Andrew Alvarez serves as a primary pitcher for the Nationals, and the left-handed-hitting Yoshida's opportunities versus righties could soon dry up as well. The Red Sox have already been using Yoshida as a part-time player versus righties of late while he's put together an uninspiring .246/.329/.345 slash line (88 wRC+) in those matchups for the season. With Yoshida having been limited to just five starts in the outfield, he's not providing much defensive value to offset the lack of production he's provided out of the designated-hitter spot.

Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting Duran will hit the bench for a third straight matchup versus a lefty starter/primary pitcher (Andrew Alvarez) and looks as though he'll be relegated to a strong-side platoon role while he's slashed .216/.284/.297 (61 wRC+) in 81 plate appearances versus southpaws on the season. Nate Eaton will replace Duran in left field and will bat seventh.
