The Mariners claimed MacIver off waivers from the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

MacIver will report to Triple-A Tacoma, where he will provide the Mariners with some catching depth. The 29-year-old has hit .270/.344/.459 at the Triple-A level in 2026.

The Blue Jays recalled Bloss from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday and placed him on the 60-day injured list while he recovers from a right teres major strain, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The transaction clears a spot on the Blue Jays' 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Paul Sewald. Bloss had been shelved at Triple-A for the past month due to the injury, and while he should be ready to go for the start of the 2027 season, he's not expected to pitch again in 2026, per MLB.com.

Naylor (wrist) will start at first base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

The Mariners kept Naylor on the bench during Tuesday's 4-1 loss due to a sore right wrist, but the 29-year-old looks like he's made enough improvement overnight to rejoin the lineup for the second game of the series in New York. While Naylor has remained active on the basepaths in 2026 with 23 steals in 28 attempts, he's seen his power production taper off dramatically. His ISO has dropped nearly 60 points, going from .168 in 2025 to .109 this season.

Springer is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox.

Kazuma Okamoto will serve as the Blue Jays' designated hitter as he comes back from a knee issue, so Springer will grab a seat Wednesday. Springer has gone just 3-for-22 at the plate over his last seven contests.

Astros manager Joe Espada said that Blanco will be available out of the bullpen for Wednesday's game against the Giants, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Blanco has struggled to the tune of a 6.98 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB over 19.1 innings while starting in his first four appearances since coming off the 60-day injured list July 20. The Astros will have reliever Bryan King open Wednesday's game and presumably cover an inning or two, but it's unclear if Espada intends to use Blanco or Tatsuya Imai in bulk relief, or if both pitchers will be called upon to eat innings. If Blanco ends up going unused Wednesday, he could step back into the rotation at some point during this weekend's series versus the Mariners.

Okamoto (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat fifth in Wednesday's contest against the Red Sox.

Okamoto was on the bench for the Blue Jays' previous two games while tending to a left knee contusion, but he feels well enough to at least hit Wednesday. With Okamoto slotting in at DH, George Springer will exit the Toronto lineup.

Walker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Walker appears to be getting a planned day off after he had started in each of the Astros' last 14 games. LaMonte Wade will fill in at first base for Walker, who went hitless in 10 at-bats over his most recent three starts to bring his average down to .236 for the season.

Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

The Astros will give Diaz a breather for Wednesday's matinee after he caught eight innings of a 4-1 loss Tuesday night. Christian Vazquez will step in behind the plate in place of Diaz.

The Blue Jays claimed Sewald off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Sewald was scrubbed from the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster Monday after posting a 12.79 ERA and 1.89 WHIP across his last 12.2 frames. The veteran reliever began the season with a 3.08 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings covering his first 29 appearances, so the Blue Jays will try to coax the latter version back out of Sewald. Once he reports to the team, Sewald will likely be slated for middle relief.

Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Pozo (finger) will be available off the bench for Wednesday's game in Minnesota, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Pozo had to be removed from Tuesday's contest with a finger injury after taking a bat to the catcher's mitt, but X-rays were clean and he won't have any limitations Wednesday. The 29-year-old is 3-for-10 with a home run early on in his tenure in Baltimore.
