Fisher will serve as Toronto's opening pitcher during Wednesday's game against the Mets, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Fisher has been successful while working as an opener this season, striking out seven batters and walking four while tossing 5.2 scoreless innings across his five starts. He'll now draw his sixth opening assignment and is likely to exit the game after pitching an inning or two. Spencer Miles and Patrick Corbin will both be available out of the bullpen to cover multiple innings once Fisher's day is done.

Outman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Outman hit one of five Detroit home runs on the night, and it continued a decent power display with his new team. The outfielder had no long balls and a lowly .479 OPS across 49 games with the Twins earlier in the season. The 29-year-old is still hard to fully trust in fantasy, but at least his bat is showing some signs of life.

Gausman (4-7) took the loss against the Mets on Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Gausman suffered his third straight loss despite giving up just one run in the fifth inning. He generated 14 whiffs on 96 pitches but also surrendered 11 hard-hit balls, seven of which resulted in outs. It was still a much-needed rebound for the veteran, who had yielded 13 earned runs over his previous two starts. He'll take a 4.19 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 100:24 K:BB across 101 innings this season into a road matchup with the Giants next week.

Carpenter went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Carpenter took tough New York righty Cam Schlittler deep in the first inning. The outfielder didn't do much after that, though it was enough to extend his hitting streak to five games, and he's gone deep three times during the hot stretch. Overall, Carpenter has 13 home runs, 36 RBI and an .810 OPS across 63 contests this season, with almost all of his damage coming against righties.

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Riley Greene stole the show with two home runs Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium, but Torkelson also managed to extend his strong recent stretch of play. Over his last 10 games, the Detroit first baseman is batting .324 with two long balls and eight RBI. On the season, Torkelson now has 14 home runs and 37 RBI across 85 contests.

Greene went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Greene received the day off Monday, which was his first lineup absence since April 17, and he returned with a bang Tuesday. The talented outfielder delivered his first multi-homer game of the season, and he's now up to 11 long balls overall, with seven of them coming in 25 games this month. Greene is also now sporting a .288 batting average and .828 OPS, both of which would be career bests.

Manager John Schneider said Tuesday that Scherzer (back/side) will likely make a few rehab starts at Triple-A Buffalo to ramp up before returning from the injured list, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The Blue Jays are encouraged by the progress Scherzer has made since receiving a cortisone injection in his left side. However, his chances of returning before the All-Star break have taken a hit now that the team seemingly plans on having the veteran righty make multiple starts in the minors. A clearer timeline for his return to the big-league staff will likely emerge as he progresses through his rehab assignment.

Seabold was removed from Tuesday's game against the Rays with right lat tightness.

Seabold was injured after attempting to pick off a runner at first base in the fifth inning. It's unknown whether his injury will cause him to spend time on the injured list, but the Royals may refrain from using him out of the bullpen for at least a day or two while he recovers.

Early left Tuesday's contest versus Washington in the fifth inning due to left elbow discomfort, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Early exited after tossing four scoreless frames, and the reason for his departure was initially unknown. It is now understood to be an elbow issue, which is never a particularly easy pill to swallow for fantasy managers. Early will undergo additional imaging Wednesday to get an official diagnosis, per Cotillo, but he could be set for a stint on the injured list.

Early pitched four scoreless innings, surrendering three hits and two walks while striking out five batters before he was replaced on the mound by Danny Coulombe to open the top of the fifth. It's unclear what caused his departure, but the 24-year-old will finish his night having tossed 38 of his 61 total pitches for strikes. More information on Early's status will likely be provided in the near future.
