Yohendrick Pinango LF | TOR
Blue Jays' Yohendrick Pinango: Losing out on playing time
Pinango is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
On the bench for a third straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher, the rookie appears to have faded into a reserve role following Nathan Lukes' recent return from the injured list. Though Pinango has held his own against big-league pitching with a .277/.318/.398 slash line in 88 plate appearances, he could soon be headed back to Triple-A Buffalo while Lukes, Jesus Sanchez and Daulton Varsho serve as Toronto's primary starters in the outfield. Pinango's path to playing time will only become narrower once Addison Barger (elbow) returns from the IL, likely at some point within the next couple of weeks.

Connor Wong C | BOS
Red Sox's Connor Wong: Big day in win
Wong went 2-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 9-1 win over the Guardians.
Wong thought a home run drought dating back to September 2024 had ended, but his sixth-inning homer was changed to an RBI double upon review. Despite Saturday's effort, Wong sits third on the catching depth chart after interim manager Chad Tracy indicated Mickey Gasper would be Boston's primary catcher against right-handers, per Tim Healy of The Boston Globe.

George Springer DH | TOR
Blue Jays' George Springer: Idle for day game
Springer is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Springer will be given a breather for the day game after he had served as Toronto's designated hitter each of the previous three nights. Vladimir Guerrero will replace Springer at DH.

Nathan Lukes RF | TOR
Blue Jays' Nathan Lukes: Occupying leadoff spot Sunday
Lukes will start in left field and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Since being reinstated from the injured list Monday, Lukes has gone 7-for-16 with two doubles, two walks, two runs and one RBI. He'll draw his fifth start in seven games, but Lukes may need to continue his hot-hitting ways to ensure he maintains a regular role once Addison Barger (elbow) is ready to come back from the IL. For now, Lukes and Jesus Sanchez look like the Blue Jays' preferred starters in the corner outfield, but Barger's eventual return will create a logjam.

Trevor Martin RP | TB
Rays' Trevor Martin: Back with Tampa Bay
The Rays recalled Martin from Triple-A Durham on Sunday.
Tampa Bay designated right-hander Andrew Wantz for assignment to clear room in the bullpen for Martin, who will be up with the big club for the third time this season. Over his previous two stints with the Rays, Martin made four appearances and logged a 3.68 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB in 7.1 innings.

Willson Contreras 1B | BOS
Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Taking seat Sunday
Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Contreras will receive a breather Sunday after a run of 16 straight starts, during which he posted a .344/.394/.590 slash line with two doubles, two triples, three homers, 10 RBI and seven runs. Mickey Gasper will shift to first base while Carlos Narvaez picks up a start behind the plate in the series finale at Cleveland.

Cameron Booser RP | TB
Rays' Cam Booser: Available for Tampa Bay debut
The Rays recalled Booser from Triple-A Durham on Sunday.
Booser was added to the Rays' 40-man roster at the end of spring training after he had attended camp as a non-roster invitee, but he remained in the minors for the first two-plus months of the season. The 34-year-old southpaw is likely to work in middle relief for Tampa Bay after accruing a 1.80 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB across 20 innings in 23 appearances for Durham.

Craig Kimbrel RP | TB
Rays' Craig Kimbrel: Lands on IL with wrist issue
The Rays placed Kimbrel on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right wrist strain.
Per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Kimbrel showed no sign of injury while tossing a scoreless inning of relief in his Rays debut Tuesday in Baltimore, but his wrist began bothering him Friday. After consulting with team doctors, Kimbrel and the Rays came to a mutual decision for the veteran right-hander to go on the shelf, though he could be ready for activation when first eligible June 12.

Luis Medina RP | ATH
Athletics' Luis Medina: Returns to bullpen after spot start
Medina struck out two batters and allowed one hit and one walk over a scoreless inning out of the bullpen in Friday's 8-2 loss to the Yankees.
The Athletics called upon Medina to work as an opener last Sunday but he's since shifted back to the bullpen and is likely to stick in a middle-relief role, even with Luis Severino (shoulder) landing on the injured list Saturday. For the season, Medina has collected one win and two holds while pitching to a 3.13 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 23:11 K:BB in 23 innings over 17 appearances.

Stuart Fairchild CF | CLE
Guardians' Stuart Fairchild: Fills in for injured teammate
Fairchild entered Saturday's game in left field for the injured Angel Martinez (foot) and went 0-for-2 in a 9-1 loss to Boston.
Fairchild saw his first game action in the majors since being called up Friday after Steven Kwan was placed on the bereavement list. Martinez, who was removed after four innings, underwent an MRI following the game. If Martinez is forced to miss time, Fairchild and the lefty-hitting Petey Halpin could form a platoon in his place.
