Simpson will start in left field and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Rays manager Kevin Cash dropped Simpson to sixth in the order Tuesday, but the speedy outfielder will jump back up to fifth after he banged out a season-high four hits in Tampa Bay's 12-2 win. Simpson has been on fire coming out of the All-Star break, going 9-for-19 with two doubles, one walk, two stolen bases, three runs and one RBI through five contests.

Mayo is not in the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader in Boston.

Mayo doubled and scored a run in the first game of the twin bill but will get a breather in the second game. Johnathan Rodriguez will serve as the designated hitter, and Christian Encarnacion-Strand will play third base.

Williamson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Toronto, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Richie Palacios will check back in at second base Wednesday while Williamson retreats to the bench following a big performance in Tuesday's 12-2 win. Williamson delivered his second four-hit game in his last five starts, bringing his batting average up to .257 on the campaign.

Quantrill is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Tyler Alexander during Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The White Sox will roll out a starting lineup featuring three left-handed batters in the top four spots, so the left-handed Alexander will likely work the first inning or two in an effort to neutralize those hitters. Quantrill is then expected to enter the game once Alexander exits, which could aid Quantrill's chances of coming away with a win. Quantrill had started in each of his last five appearances, going 0-2 with a 4.29 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB across 21 innings.

The Orioles recalled Walker from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Walker has been appointed as the club's 27th man for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader in Boston. The southpaw has permitted three runs with a 7:2 K:BB over six innings during his time in the Orioles' bullpen this season. Walker will likely be dispatched to Norfolk following the twin bill.

The Blue Jays recalled Van Eyk from Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Van Eyk tossed two scoreless relief innings during his major-league debut last week and is back for another opportunity. The 27-year-old has made 13 starts at Buffalo this season, so he is capable of giving the Blue Jays' bullpen some length.

The Blue Jays recalled Pinango from Triple-A Buffalo, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports. He'll start in left field and bat fifth Wednesday against the Rays.

Pinango has held his own at the big-league level this season with a .267/.313/.413 batting line, though he went only 4-for-23 (.174 average) at the plate in his most recent stint. The left-handed-hitting Pinango will likely see some playing time in the corner-outfield spots versus right-handed pitchers.

Jung (calf) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Ezequiel Duran will draw the start at third base in place of Jung, who was lifted early in Tuesday's 10-0 win due to left calf tightness. Per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com, Jung downplayed any concern about the injury, noting that he feels fine and expects to be available off the bench Wednesday. The Rangers will have a team day off Thursday, so with two full days of rest on tap, Jung could be ready for the three-game series versus the Mariners this weekend.

The Red Sox recalled Gamboa from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.

Gamboa will serve as the 27th man for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Orioles. The lefty has logged a 2.25 ERA and 5:4 K:BB in eight innings for Boston this season and could offer some length out of the bullpen in Wednesday's nightcap, if needed.

Montgomery (shin) will start at shortstop and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

The White Sox held Montgomery out of the lineup Tuesday due to a sore right shin, an injury that stemmed from fouling a pitch off of himself during Monday's 10-3 win. Montgomery was still deemed available off the bench Tuesday, though he went unused in Chicago's 10-0 loss. He's feeling good after a day of rest and will take back his usual spot in the field and in the heart of the Chicago lineup.
