Poche agreed to a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Wednesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Poche, 32, gave up 13 earned runs in just 9.1 major-league innings last season between the Nationals and Mets. He had signed a deal in January to spend the 2026 campaign in the Mexican League but will now pursue an opportunity to remain stateside. The southpaw owns a career 4.01 ERA in the majors and is just three seasons removed from putting up a 2.23 ERA with the Rays, so he could earn a spot in Detroit's bullpen at some point in 2026 if he returns to his previous form.

Kolek felt tightness in his left side while warming up in the bullpen during Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Mariners, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Kolek went into the clubhouse to have his left side evaluated by medical staff, and an update on his status should be made within the next couple days. The 28-year-old right-hander was acquired by the Royals from the Padres at the trade deadline in late July and is competing for a spot in Kansas City's rotation. Across five starts with the Royals in 2025, Kolek posted a 1-2 record with a 1.91 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB across 33 innings.

Mayer is expected to make his spring debut Friday on the road against Atlanta, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Mayer's hitting progression was being slow walked at the start of camp due to a July 2025 wrist injury that eventually required surgery and ended his season. "Now, he's just adding to his hitting program. He's doing everything," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. "He's just adding the velo machine and the Trajekt." Caleb Durbin has been filling in at third base while Mayer was held back. A better indication of how Mayer and Durbin will eventually fit on the diamond should emerge once Mayer takes the field. Each player has experience at second and third base.

Acuna was pulled from Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Reds due to a laceration above his left eyebrow, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Acuna was injured while stealing second base in the fourth inning. He will be evaluated to determine whether sutures are needed for the wound. Acuna singled in both of his plate appearances Wednesday before exiting. He is projected to be the Opening Day center fielder for the White Sox.

Rodgers was removed from Wednesday's Grapefruit League contest against the Twins due to right shoulder pain, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Rodgers looked to be in a considerable amount of pain after injuring his shoulder when he reached for the ball following a diving attempt at second base, but subsequent strength tests were positive and there is no imaging scheduled. The 29-year-old has undergone major surgery on both shoulders previously, with an operation on the right one coming back in 2019 to address a torn labrum. Rodgers is in Red Sox camp as a non-roster invitee as he attempts to win a reserve role.

DeLauter was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Rangers due to lower-body soreness, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Per Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Guardians described DeLauter's removal from the starting nine as precautionary after the young outfielder experienced some soreness stemming from his heavy on-field activity to begin camp. Petey Halpin will draw the start in right field in DeLauter's stead Wednesday.

Rodriguez completed 1.2 innings in a Cactus League contest against San Francisco on Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit and three walks while striking out two batters.

Rodriguez missed all of the 2025 regular season due to injuries to his elbow and lat, so this was his first game action since spring training of last year. The right-hander gave up just one hit -- a second-inning double -- but struggled to find the plate, tossing only 23 of 40 pitches for strikes and issuing three free passes. The promising news, however, is that Rodriguez appeared to emerge from the outing with no setbacks while handling a normal pitch count for a starter early in spring training. If he can get through the remainder of the preseason healthy, Rodriguez will likely begin the campaign in the Angels' starting rotation.

Warren tossed 2.2 innings in a Grapefruit League game against Toronto on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out four batters.

Warren pounded the zone during his outing, throwing 36 of 49 pitches for strikes. He gave up a run in the first inning but ended the start by retiring the final five batters he faced. Warren averaged 93.1 mph on his fastball, which is right in line with the 93.3 mph he averaged on the offering last season. He seems to be a lock for a spot at the back of New York's rotation in the early going with Gerrit Cole (elbow), Carlos Rodon (elbow) and Clarke Schmidt (elbow) all slated to open the campaign on the injured list, but Warren will likely need to pitch well to maintain a starting role when those hurlers return to action.

Casas said recently that he has yet to test out his surgically repaired left knee with running or sliding, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Casas believes he will be ready to play "for some affiliate" Opening Day and doesn't rule out the possibility that it could be with the Red Sox, but it's unlikely. His rehab from patellar tendon surgery has come along well, but the 26-year-old still has some boxes to check before being cleared to play in games. With Willson Contreras set to man first base, the Red Sox can afford to proceed with caution with Casas. When Casas is ready to return to the big club, he will be in the mix for starts in the designated hitter slot.
