Westburg (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Andrew Golden of TheBanner.com reports.

Westburg's procedure will keep him out for the remainder of the 2026 campaign, but general manager Mike Elias said Friday that the 27-year-old infielder has a good chance to return to playing in the field full time by early 2027. Until then, Coby Mayo will likely take over as Baltimore's primary third baseman, though Jeremiah Jackson, Blaze Alexander and Weston Wilson are also candidates to make starts at the hot corner.

Helsley (elbow) played catch Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

It marked the first time Helsley has played catch since he was placed on the injured list May 1. His elbow is progressing and feeling much better, according to Kubatko. Helsley will likely need a rehab assignment before rejoining Baltimore's bullpen, and it would appear he still has multiple boxes to check in his recovery before getting to that point.

Larnach is out of the lineup Friday against the Brewers due to upper-back tightness, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

It explains why Larnach isn't in the lineup against right-hander Coleman Crow despite Byron Buxton (hip) also missing a second straight game. James Outman and Ryan Kreidler are getting starts in the outfield alongside Austin Martin on Friday.

Curvelo (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Curvelo has been sidelined since April 15 with a right shoulder impingement, but he appears to be nearing a return from the injured list. The right-hander pitched in four games out of the Texas bullpen prior to the injury, surrendering three runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts across five innings.

Seager is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Astros.

Seager is 0-for-27 at the plate over his last seven-plus games and will get a breather as Ezequiel Duran moves over to shortstop for Texas. On the season, Seager is slashing a disappointing .179/.286/.353 with seven home runs, 20 RBI, 22 runs scored, one stolen base and a 22:50 BB:K across 182 plate appearances.

The Angels activated O'Hoppe (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

O'Hoppe suffered a fractured left wrist April 25 but is set to return to action after missing three weeks. The 26-year-old is slashing .205/.323/.256 with one home run, eight RBI, nine runs scored and an 11:23 BB:K across 93 trips to the plate this season.

The Yankees placed Fried on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a left elbow bone bruise, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Fried will be shut down from throwing for a "few weeks," and he'll then undergo further imaging once he becomes asymptomatic, according to Phillips, so it sounds like Fried is going to miss more than the minimum 15 days. A more specific return timeline and rehab schedule will be determined at a later date, though Fried said he doesn't anticipate that he'll need any sort of surgery, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. It's a significant hit to the New York rotation after Fried was removed from Wednesday's start against Baltimore after surrendering three runs on five hits and a walk across three innings.

Lukes (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Lukes has been sidelined since April 24 with a left hamstring strain, but he's been running the bases and will do so again this weekend before heading out on his rehab stint. Yohendrick Pinango has been seeing extensive playing time in the Toronto outfield with both Lukes and Addison Barger (elbow) missing action.

Manager John Schneider said Friday that "surgery is on the table" for Berrios (elbow), Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Berrios was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his pitching elbow ahead of the start of the regular season and suffered a setback 10 days ago following his fourth rehab start. It sounds like the veteran could need some sort of procedure, which would obviously knock him out even longer after Berrios had been ramping up to join the Blue Jays' pitching staff this month.

Altuve is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

With Altuve getting a breather against right-hander Jack Leiter, Brice Matthews will lead off and play second base for Houston. Altuve hasn't homered since April 17 and doesn't have an extra-base hit over his last six games. On the season, the 36-year-old is slashing .245/.328/.365 with three home runs, 11 RBI, 26 runs scored, one stolen base and a 19:34 BB:K across 181 trips to the dish.
