  • Jose Suarez SP | ATH

Orioles' Jose Suarez: Claimed by O's

The Orioles claimed Suarez off waivers from Atlanta on Thursday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Suarez made the most of his limited big-league opportunities in 2025, turning in a 1.86 ERA and 1.29 WHIP across 19.1 innings spanning seven appearances (one start) for Atlanta. The 28-year-old lefty doesn't have any minor-league options remaining, so he will have to break spring camp with the Orioles -- likely as a long reliever -- to keep his spot on the 40-man roster.

  • Blue Jays' Rafael Lantigua: Nabs NRI deal with Blue Jays

The Blue Jays signed Lantigua to a minor-league contract Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Lantigua spent his first seven seasons in pro ball with the Blue Jays before slashing .230/.356/.330 with seven homers, 17 steals and a 77:73 BB:K over 125 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies organization in 2025. The 27-year-old is now back in his original organization and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Buffalo to begin the 2026 campaign.

Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Lands five-year deal with Boston

The Red Sox signed Suarez to a five-year, $130 million contract Wednesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

After watching Alex Bregman walk out the door, the Red Sox have pivoted to further bolstering their rotation with Suarez. The left-hander has never thrown more than 157.1 innings in a regular season, but Suarez boasts a 3.25 ERA over 143 regular-season appearances since the beginning of the 2021 campaign. Suarez also has an excellent postseason track record, having collected a 1.48 ERA and 44:13 K:BB across 42.2 frames.

  • Mickey Gasper DH | BOS

Twins' Mickey Gasper: Cleared from 40-man roster

The Twins designated Gasper for assignment Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Vidal Brujan, who was claimed off waivers. Gasper slashed only .158/.257/.232 over 45 contests with the Twins in 2025, but his ability to play catcher, first base, second base and left field could attract the interest of clubs via the waivers process.

  • Vidal Brujan SS | NYM

Twins' Vidal Brujan: Claimed off waivers by Twins

The Twins claimed Brujan off waivers from Atlanta on Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Brujan has yet to show much of anything offensively at the major-league level, slashing .199/.267/.276 across parts of five seasons. He is able to play all over the diamond, giving the Twins defensive versatility off the bench.

  • Jhonkensy Noel OF | BAL

Orioles' Jhonkensy Noel: Remains in organization

The Orioles outrighted Noel to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Noel was booted off the Orioles' 40-man roster last week shortly after being claimed off waivers. He passed through waivers this time around and will remain in the organization. Noel has slashed .193/.242/.401 with 19 home runs over 351 regular-season plate appearances at the major-league level.

  • Ryan Weathers SP | NYY

Yankees' Ryan Weathers: Traded to Yankees

The Marlins traded Weathers to the Yankees on Tuesday in exchange for minor-leaguers Dillon Lewis, Brendan Jones, Dylan Jasso and Juan Matheus, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Weathers finished the 2025 season with a 3.99 ERA and 1.28 WHIP but was limited to just eight starts due to forearm and lat strains. Now fully recovered from both injuries, the 26-year-old will help bolster a Yankees rotation that is expected to begin the regular season without Gerrit Cole (elbow) and Carlos Rodon (elbow).

  • Athletics' Bryan Lavastida: Re-signs with Athletics

The Athletics re-signed Lavastida to a minor-league contract Dec. 18.

Lavastida split the 2025 season between the Astros and Athletics minor-league systems, hitting .279/.362/.438 with 10 homers in 89 games. The 27-year-old's only major-league experience came back in 2022, and he is merely organizational depth for the A's.

  • Carter Kieboom 3B | CLE

Guardians' Carter Kieboom: Nets NRI pact from Guardians

The Guardians signed Kieboom to a minor-league contract Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training.

Kieboom went 2-for-8 during a brief stint with the Angels in 2025 but spent most of the year at Triple-A Salt Lake, where he slashed .319/.368/.449 with nine homers in 93 contests. The 28-year-old will compete for a reserve role in Cleveland but is likely ticketed for Triple-A Columbus to begin the season.

  • Osvaldo Bido SP | CHW

Rays' Osvaldo Bido: Jettisoned from 40-man roster

The Rays designated Bido for assignment Monday.

The righty posted a 3.41 ERA and 24.3 percent strikeout rate with the Athletics in 2024 before stumbling to a 5.87 ERA and 18.7 percent strikeout rate in 2025. Bido does not have minor-league options remaining.
