Cameron won't start Tuesday's game against the Guardians due to lower back tightness.

Cameron was in line to toe the rubber for his seventh start of the 2026 campaign Tuesday, but he'll miss his start after experiencing back tightness. Stephen Kolek will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start in Cameron's place. It's unclear at this time when Cameron will pitch next, as the club may elect to skip his turn in the rotation, depending on the severity of the injury.

Torres (side) wasn't available to pinch hit Monday against the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

This update indicates that Torres is still being bothered by his left side injury, and it seems as though a trip to the injured list is very much on the table at this juncture. Skipper A.J. Hinch was hopeful that Torres may be able to pinch hit late in Monday's matchup, but Hinch noted after the game that the 29-year-old wasn't feeling healthy enough for an at-bat. Given this information, it's unlikely that Torres will be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game.

Langeliers was placed on the paternity list Monday.

Langeliers was away from the team for Sunday's matchup and will now miss the next 1-to-3 days after being placed on the paternity list. Austin Wynns is expected to handle the catching duties until Langeliers returns, though the Athletics also landed Jonah Heim in a trade from Atlanta on Monday, so Heim could factor into the mix if he's elevated to the big-league roster.

The Athletics acquired Heim from Atlanta on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Heim was designated for assignment by Atlanta earlier in the day Monday, but instead of sending the veteran backstop to the waiver wire, the club was able to work out a deal with the Athletics. The 30-year-old backstop slashed .231/.311/.410 with one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in 12 games for Atlanta before being booted from the 40-man roster.

Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said that Bello will be deployed as the bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Jovani Moran in Tuesday's game against Detroit, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Bello has struggled to work deep into outings in the early going of the 2026 campaign, so the Red Sox are electing to use him out of the bullpen for just the fourth time in his five-year big-league career. Moran is likely to cover just an inning or two before giving way to Bello, who owns a 9.17 ERA and 2.15 WHIP over 17.2 innings across his last four appearances.

Moran will serve as Boston's opening pitcher for Tuesday's game in Detroit, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

The lefty will presumably work the first inning or two before making way for Brayan Bello, who is expected to serve as the team's bulk reliever Tuesday. Moran is off to a strong start to the 2026 season, delivering a 2.33 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 17 strikeouts across 19.1 innings.

Springer (foot) is expected to be back in the starting lineup Tuesday against Tampa Bay, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Bannon mentions that Springer was spotted in the on-deck circle at one point during Monday's matchup for a potential pinch-hit situation, but he was ultimately pulled back to allow Brandon Valenzuela to hit. Springer has been held out of the lineup for two straight games after being struck by a pitch on his left foot Saturday, but he managed to avoid a significant injury and should be back in action for the second game of the series.

X-rays on Anthony's right wrist returned negative, but he'll fly to Boston on Tuesday to see a hand specialist, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Anthony's trip to Boston appears to be a precautionary measure, as the Red Sox want to ensure the young outfielder avoided a significant injury. Boston is scheduled to play two more games in Detroit, so the 21-year-old will presumably miss the remainder of the series, with the hope that he'll be back in the starting lineup Thursday against Tampa Bay. Masataka Yoshida will be a candidate to see more at-bats in Anthony's absence.

Whitcomb was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Astros needed to promote a catcher ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers after Yainer Diaz (abdomen) was a late scratch, and Whitcomb will end up being the roster casualty. Whitcomb has struggled to a .077 average with one home run, three RBI and one run scored through 10 games this season.

Wilcox was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Wilcox put together a pair of scoreless appearances to begin May, but it wasn't enough to maintain his spot on the big-league roster. He's put together a 5.40 ERA and 2.17 WHIP with a 15:12 K:BB across 13.1 frames so far this season. Josh Simpson was recalled in a corresponding move.
