Martinez isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.

Martinez will get a breather after making six consecutive starts and going 6-for-24 with two homers, five RBI and a steal in that span. His absence will allow Chase DeLauter to start in right field while Rhys Hoskins serves as Cleveland's designated hitter.

Vargas (lat) has suffered a setback in his recovery, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Vargas has been on the injured list since the beginning of the regular season due to a strained right lat, and his latest setback will require him to restart his throwing progression completely. He won't be eligible to return from the IL until May 23, though it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to return by then.

Manager Dan Wilson said Friday that Refsnyder is dealing with a couple of "minor ailments," Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners don't seem to be too concerned with Refsnyder's health, but they'll give him a day off Friday as a precaution. The 35-year-old has made all nine of his starts against southpaws this year but is slashing just .135/.214/.297 through 42 plate appearances.

Mariners manager Justin Hollander told reporters Friday that an MRI on Brash revealed "trace inflammation" in his right lat and no signs of structural damage, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Brash sustained the injury during Wednesday's game against the Twins after tossing just two pitches in the eighth inning. The fact there was no structural damage is good news for the 27-year-old right-hander, but the inflammation in his lat could result in a stint on the 15-day IL. It would be a big blow to the Mariners' bullpen, as Brash has yet to give up an earned run across 11.1 innings this season, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out eight and accumulating four holds.

Quero is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Padres on Friday.

Quero will get a breather after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout during the White Sox's 3-2 win over the Angels on Wednesday. He'll begin Friday's game on the bench while Drew Romo starts behind home plate and bats ninth while catching pitches from Noah Schultz.

Manoah (finger) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Manoah said that he has built up to 90 pitches during sim games, and he's now set for his first opportunity to test his bruised right middle finger in a game. Although he has already built up his workload, the Angels may keep the 28-year-old in the minors for multiple starts before activating him from the injured list.

Miller (oblique) is scheduled to make his next rehab start with High-A Everett on Wednesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Miller is coming off a strong rehab outing with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, when he yielded two hits and issued two walks while striking out four batters across four scoreless innings. He tossed 53 pitches (36 strikes) in that appearance, and he'll continue to build up his pitch count before returning to the majors, which is tentatively trending toward happening in mid-May.

Clement is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.

Clement started Toronto's first 31 games of the season, but he'll receive his first day off Friday while in the midst of a 2-for-14 slump. Lenyn Sosa will instead man the keystone and bat sixth versus Minnesota righty Simeon Woods Richardson.

Robles (pectoral) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

A strained right pectoral sent Robles to the injured list April 8, and he's now been cleared to return to a game environment after a few weeks of ramping up baseball activity. It's unclear exactly how long the Mariners plan to keep the 28-year-old in the minors, though he isn't expected to require a lengthy rehab assignment.

Berrios (elbow) will appear in one more rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Berrios wasn't great in his last rehab appearance with Buffalo on Wednesday, when he tossed 70 pitches and allowed five runs on five hits (including two homers) and two walks while striking out two across four innings. With Berrios scheduled to pitch Sunday, he could rejoin the Blue Jays for their weekend home series against the Angels that kicks off Friday, May 8, barring any setbacks.
