The Angels designated Lucchesi for assignment Wednesday.

Lucchesi was knocked around for six runs (five earned) on seven hits with a 4:6 K:BB in his 3.1 innings with the Halos. It's the second time the lefty has been designated for assignment by the Angels this month. He elected free agency before re-signing on a minor-league deal the first time around.

Williamson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After making five consecutive starts in the middle infield, Williamson now finds himself on the bench for the second straight game, with both absences coming while the Rays have faced right-handed pitchers. Williamson looks like he'll continue to share second base with Richie Palacios until Gavin Lux (shoulder/ankle) is cleared to return from the injured list.

Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Fortes will rest for Wednesday's matinee contest after starting behind the dish in the first two games of the series in Cleveland. Hunter Feduccia is set to handle catching duties for the Rays.

Caminero (jaw) will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Caminero was forced to exit Tuesday's contest after a foul tip bounced off the dirt and struck him in the jaw. He escaped with merely a contusion and will not have to miss any starts. Caminero has started every game for the Rays this season.

Hoffman struck out two in a perfect seventh inning Tuesday to record his third hold of the season in a win over the Red Sox.

The right-hander has collected holds in three straight appearances with a 4:1 K:BB in 2.1 innings over that span, although the first of those outings was the one that encouraged the Blue Jays to finally remove him from the closer role in favor of Louis Varland. A prolonged stretch of success for Hoffman could allow him to regain ninth-inning duties, but Varland isn't doing anything yet to suggest he's going to give the job back. Hoffman may simply be better equipped mentally for a setup role -- he thrived in that assignment with the Phillies in 2023-24 before signing with the Jays in free agency, racking up 32 holds with a 2.28 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 11.98 K/8 in those two seasons.

Benintendi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

With the White Sox and Angels wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game and with a southpaw (Yusei Kikuchi) on the bump for the Halos, the left-handed-hitting Benintendi will be given the afternoon off. Benintendi went 2-for-7 with a double, a walk, three RBI and a run over the first two contests of the series.

Pereira (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

The White Sox are listing Pereira as day-to-day after he was pulled from Tuesday's 5-2 win due to a sore right shoulder, which he appeared to tweak on a swing in the fourth inning. Austin Hays replaced Pereira in right field Tuesday and will stick in the starting nine at designated hitter in Wednesday's series finale. With an off day on tap Thursday, the White Sox are hopeful that Pereira will be ready to move past the shoulder injury and return to the lineup during this weekend's series in San Diego.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox.

Lowe's homer in the eighth inning off Jordan Leasure was his fourth of the season and first since April 17. The 28-year-old has really struggled at the plate in his first season with the Halos, slashing .192/.250/.370 with the four long balls, 10 RBI, seven runs scored, one stolen base and a 5:22 BB:K across 81 plate appearances. After swiping 75 bases for the Rays from 2023-25, Lowe was expected to be a source of power and speed from the left side for the Angels. He has a career-low 26.5 percent hard-hit rate.

Schanuel went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox.

Schanuel has now posted back-to-back multi-hit games against Chicago with a pair of doubles across nine plate appearances. The first baseman has hit safely in 14 of 22 games this month and is slashing .241/.304/.375 with three homers, 19 RBI, 10 runs scored and a 10:19 BB:K across 125 plate appearances on the season. Schanuel doesn't hit the ball hard or possess much power, but he doesn't chase pitches out of the zone or strike out often.

Soriano (5-1) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts across five innings.

After allowing just one earned run across 37.2 innings in his first six starts of the season, Soriano experienced his first bit of adversity Tuesday. He battled location issues, throwing 40 of his 97 pitches out of the zone, though the right-hander was able to generate 19 whiffs with his plus stuff. Soriano is one of the most groundball-heavy pitchers in the league but did serve up a pair of homers against Chicago, as Colson Montgomery and Drew Romo both took him deep. Despite the rough outing, Soriano still owns a microscopic 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and league-high 49 strikeouts to 16 walks across 42.2 innings. He's scheduled to see the White Sox again Monday in Los Angeles.
