Schanuel went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox.

Schanuel has now posted back-to-back multi-hit games against Chicago with a pair of doubles across nine plate appearances. The first baseman has hit safely in 14 of 22 games this month and is slashing .241/.304/.375 with three homers, 19 RBI, 10 runs scored and a 10:19 BB:K across 125 plate appearances on the season. Schanuel doesn't hit the ball hard or possess much power, but he doesn't chase pitches out of the zone or strike out often.

Soriano (5-1) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts across five innings.

After allowing just one earned run across 37.2 innings in his first six starts of the season, Soriano experienced his first bit of adversity Tuesday. He battled location issues, throwing 40 of his 97 pitches out of the zone, though the right-hander was able to generate 19 whiffs with his plus stuff. Soriano is one of the most groundball-heavy pitchers in the league but did serve up a pair of homers against Chicago, as Colson Montgomery and Drew Romo both took him deep. Despite the rough outing, Soriano still owns a microscopic 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and league-high 49 strikeouts to 16 walks across 42.2 innings. He's scheduled to see the White Sox again Monday in Los Angeles.

Martinez will start in left field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rays, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Martinez appeared to be moving into more of a part-time role following a week-long stretch from April 15 through 22 in which he went just 3-for-19 at the dish, but he's since settled back in as an everyday player for the Guardians. The switch-hitting outfielder will stick in the lineup for a sixth straight contest after producing two home runs and two doubles and chipping in a stolen base over his previous five starts.

Valera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The left-handed-hitting Valera will hit the bench for a second straight matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Drew Rasmussen) after slashing just .216/.237/.297 over 38 plate appearances since being activated from the injured list April 13. Valera has a minor-league option, so he could be sent back to Triple-A Columbus to play regularly if playing time remains elusive at the big-league level.

Hoskins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After a recent stretch of four consecutive starts, Hoskins will be on the bench against a right-handed pitcher for a second straight game as the Guardians close out their series with the Rays. Hoskins should continue to regularly replace Kyle Manzardo at first base when the Guardians face lefties, but Hoskins looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role versus righties.

Romo went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Angels.

After the White Sox DFA'd Reese McGuire last weekend, Romo was the one to get the call while Kyle Teel continues to rehab his hamstring. After going 0-for-3 in his first start Sunday, Romo took Jose Soriano deep for a two-run shot in the fourth Tuesday and later added a solo homer in the sixth against Brent Suter. They were the first two homers of Romo's career in his 22nd big-league contest.

Dominguez secured the save in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Angels, allowing just one walk with one strikeout in a hitless and scoreless ninth inning.

Dominguez struck out Zach Neto and walked Mike Trout before getting Vaughn Grissom to ground into a game-ending double play. Dominguez is now 7-for-9 in save chances this season and owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB across 12 innings. Walks remain an issue for the right-hander, and he's already served up three home runs after allowing five all of last season.

Berrios (elbow) struck out two and allowed five earned runs on five hits -- including two home runs -- and two walks across four innings Tuesday in his rehab start for Triple-A Buffalo.

After making his first two rehab appearances with Single-A Dunedin, Berrios moved up to the Blue Jays' top affiliate for the third outing of his assignment. The right-hander built up to 70 pitches Wednesday and sported a fastball that sat around 92 miles per hour, but he wasn't especially sharp over his four innings. While Berrios appears to be stretched out enough to take over a spot in the big-league rotation, the Blue Jays may prefer to keep him in the minors for one more tune-up outing before bringing him back from the 15-day injured list.

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Angels.

Groundout machine Jose Soriano had allowed just one home run all season coming into Tuesday's contest, but Montgomery took him deep on a knuckle curve to lead off the bottom of the second inning. It snapped a five-game homerless drought for Montgomery, who had hit a big fly in each of the four contests prior to his recent mini outage. The lefty-hitting infielder is now slashing .236/.341/.509 with eight homers, 20 RBI, 13 runs scored, one stolen base and a 10:37 BB:K across 123 trips to the plate.

The Yankees recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Rangers in Arlington.

One of the organization's top pitching prospects, Rodriguez will be making his MLB debut Wednesday while slotting into the rotation as a replacement for right-hander Luis Gil, who was recently optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 22-year-old Rodriguez earned the appointment to the big leagues after submitting a 1.27 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 20:7 K:BB in 21.1 innings. While the Yankees' plans for the young right-hander could change if he impresses immediately in his first taste of the big leagues, Rodriguez is most likely ticketed for a short-term stay in the rotation. New York could get two of its top starters in Gerrit Cole (elbow) and Carlos Rodon (elbow) back from the injured list within the next couple of weeks.
