Osuna went 3-for-3 with one run scored in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.

This was Osuna's second consecutive multi-hit effort. The outfielder is still looking for his first home run of the season, but he's otherwise done fairly well in a strong-side platoon role since joining the major-league roster in late April. He's batting .295 with a .755 OPS, seven RBI, eight runs scored, two doubles and a stolen base over 75 plate appearances this year.

Carter went 0-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.

Carter hasn't done much with the bat lately, going 2-for-22 (.091) with three walks and six strikeouts over eight games since his last multi-hit effort. He was able to make some noise on the basepaths Saturday, picking up his first steals since May 9 versus the Cubs. The outfielder is batting just .166 with a .598 OPS, five home runs, eight steals, 15 RBI and 19 runs scored over 51 contests this season. Carter will likely continue to cede at-bats to Michael Helman versus left-handed pitchers, at least until he starts to hit more consistently.

Higashioka went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.

Higashioka got a run back with his seventh-inning blast, but the Rangers couldn't build a rally. The catcher has three homers this season, and two of them have come over his last four games. He's batting just .215 with a .621 OPS, nine RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases over 86 plate appearances. Higashioka and Danny Jansen continue to split the catching duties fairly evenly, though Jansen has a slight edge.

Eovaldi (5-5) allowed three runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss versus the Angels on Saturday.

Eovaldi has eaten innings lately -- he's covered at least seven frames in each of his last four starts, allowing just four runs across 29 innings in that span. The veteran right-hander got off to a bumpy start in 2026, but he's mostly turned things around, though he saw his three-start winning streak snapped Saturday. He's at a 3.65 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 61:14 K:BB through 61.2 innings across 10 starts this season. Eovaldi is lined up to make his next start at home versus the Astros.

Trout went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Trout set the tone early with a first-inning blast, and the Angels never trailed in this contest. The outfielder has gone 6-for-24 (.250) with two homers, four RBI and six walks over his last seven games. For the season, Trout is batting just .239, but he has an .897 OPS, 13 homers, 27 RBI, 39 runs scored, five stolen bases and eight doubles over 52 contests. His power pace would put him on track to challenge for 40 homers if he manages to stay healthy for the full season.

Yates struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Yates was the early favorite for the closer role with the Angels, but a knee injury kept him out until early May. The right-hander was eased back into action in low-leverage spots, and the Angels' overall poor performance has led to limited save opportunities. Yates squandered his first chance at a save Wednesday versus the Athletics, but he bounced back with a scoreless outing Thursday before getting the save Saturday. He's pitched to a 4.26 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB through 6.1 innings this season. Ryan Zeferjahn is the only other pitcher on the roster to have a save for the Angels in 2026 -- Jordan Romano had four before he was designated for assignment in late April. Yates is likely the lead candidate for saves moving forward thanks to his past experience as a closer, though he could face increased competition once Ben Joyce (shoulder) is ready to make his season debut.

Urena (2-4) allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings to earn the win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Urena has gone at least five innings in all five of his starts in May, allowing a total of five runs with a 23:12 K:BB across 27 innings. He had some shaky moments early in the season, but it looks like the 22-year-old right-hander is starting to settle in. He's at a 2.58 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 36:22 K:BB through 38.1 innings over nine games (seven starts). Urena will need to continue working on getting the walk rate in check, as it could come back to bite him as major-league hitters start to figure him out. His next start is projected to be on the road versus the Rays.

Ginn (2-3) allowed two runs over 2.1 hitless innings while striking out four and walking six to take the loss versus the Padres on Saturday. He also hit one batter.

Ginn's command was almost completely absent in this outing, his first start after he flirted with a no-hitter. The right-hander has had occasional mishaps with command, as this is the third time he's walked four or more batters in an outing this season. It led to an early exit -- he needed 73 pitches (40 strikes) to get his seven outs Saturday in his shortest start of the year. He's now at a 3.19 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 48:23 K:BB through 53.2 innings over 12 appearances (nine starts). Assuming there was no injury-related reason for his wildness, Ginn is projected to make his next start at home versus the Yankees.

Medina will serve as the Athletics' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Padres, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Medina worked primarily as a starter over his first two MLB seasons, but he has pitched exclusively in relief so far in 2026, posting a 2.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB over 18.2 innings. He has maxed out at 2.2 innings in an appearance this season, so while he could eventually get stretched back out as a true starter, the right-hander will likely operate as more of an opener in San Diego. Sunday had been Jacob Lopez's turn in the rotation, so he seems likely to handle the bulk of the innings behind Medina.

Schanuel exited Saturday's game against the Rangers with left calf tightness, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Schanuel drove in a run on a double in the bottom of the fifth inning -- RBI No. 24 for the first baseman this season -- but he appeared to pull up while jogging into second base. The Angels are off Monday and it would not be a surprise to see Schanuel held out through the off day at the very least, especially with a left-hander in MacKenzie Gore (lat) tentatively expected to start for Texas in the series finale.
