Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.

Torkelson went without a home run in his first 23 games of the season, but he's now gone deep on consecutive days. The slugger also struck out two more times Thursday, and his strikeout rate is now a tick below 30 percent. Torkelson has always been known as player with plenty of swing-and-miss in his game who can also hit homers in bunches, and that seems to be the case once again in 2026.

The Red Sox returned Sandoval (biceps) from his rehab assignment Thursday, Chris Henrique of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.

Sandoval had been pitching in the minors while working his way back from an internal brace procedure he underwent in 2024, but he suffered a setback during his latest rehab outing at Worcester. Manager Alex Cora said Monday that Sandoval will likely need just a few days of rest before he's ready to begin throwing again, at which point an updated timeline for his return could emerge.

Greene went 2-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Brewers.

Greene got the scoring started for the Tigers in the first inning with his second home run of the season with a runner on and two outs. The outfielder has a strong .289/.396/.444 slash line through 26 games this year, though his power production has been lagging after he popped 36 long balls during the 2025 regular season. Greene said he was focusing on improved contact in spring training after striking out a team-record 201 times last year, and it's possible that he's trading in some homers for a better batting average and on-base percentage.

The Orioles placed Kremer on the 15-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to April 20, due to a right quadriceps strain, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

In a corresponding move, the Orioles recalled Brandon Young from Triple-A Norfolk, who will step into Kremer's open rotation spot. Kremer will miss at least a couple turns through the rotation but could be out longer given that the severity of the strain has yet to be disclosed.

The Orioles recalled Young from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday to start in Friday's game versus the Red Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Young's promotion comes in a corresponding move to Dean Kremer (quad) being placed on the 15-day injured list. Young threw five scoreless frames in his spot start with the Orioles in early April, and he'll now get another look in the big leagues after beginning the season at Norfolk with a 1.08 ERA, 0.56 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB.

Duran isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.

Duran is expected to receive the bulk of starts in left field while Wyatt Langford (forearm) is on the shelf, but the Rangers will keep Duran on the bench Thursday and start Alejandro Osuna in left.

Leiter is dealing with right ankle soreness as a result of a fall during Wednesday's start versus the Pirates, but he expects to be ready for his next scheduled outing Monday against the Yankees, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Leiter tripped over a weighted bat in the on-deck circle and fell to the ground in the fifth inning. He stayed in to finish the frame and has managed to avoid a serious injury. It seems at this time Leiter is not in danger of missing his next start, but the Rangers will likely wait until this weekend before officially clearing him to take the ball versus the Yankees.

Baumler (intercostal) has been sent to Triple-A Round Rock to begin a rehab assignment.

Baumler has been shelved since early April with a right intercostal strain. The Rule 5 pick seems likely to make multiple rehab appearances before rejoining the Rangers' bullpen around the beginning of May.

The Rangers designated MacIver for assignment Thursday.

MacIver has spent the entire season at Triple-A Round Rock, slashing .170/.333/.255 with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored through 60 plate appearances. He'll end up as the roster casualty to make room on the 40-man roster for Peyton Gray, whose contract was selected from Round Rock on Thursday.

The Rangers placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left shoulder inflammation.

Garcia hasn't pitched in a week due to the injury, and the Rangers finally decided to put him on the IL. The reliever will be eligible to return May 5, though it's unclear whether the Rangers expect him to be ready by that time. Jakob Junis has been serving as the Rangers' primary closer this season, and that should continue while Garcia is sidelined.
