Megill struck out the side in a perfect ninth inning Friday, recording his 26th save of the season in a 10-7 win over the Reds.

The right-hander got Dane Myers and Elly De La Cruz to chase knuckle curves after Juan Brito couldn't catch up to a 98.3-mph fastball at the top of the zone to begin the frame. Megill fired 20 pitches (15 strikes) in all as he converted his 18th straight save chance, with his last blown save coming back on June 5 at Coors Field. Since that stumble, he's produced a dazzling 0.29 ERA, 0.61 WHIP and 33:7 K:BB over his last 31.1 innings.

Romano (0-3) took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown save of the season Friday against the Cardinals. He allowed three runs (two earned) on one hit and a walk over one inning in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals.

Romano entered the ninth tasked with protecting a 6-4 lead but couldn't finish the job. He walked Thomas Saggese to open the inning before Jose Fermin reached on a throwing error with one out, setting the stage for Ivan Herrera's go-ahead three-run homer. Romano has gone 14-for-18 in save chances this season, and this was just his second blown save since the All-Star break. He owns a 2.84 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB over 19 innings since joining the Rockies.

Herrera went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 7-6 victory over the Rockies.

Herrera delivered the game's decisive swing with St. Louis trailing 6-4 in the ninth with a 430-foot blast to center field to give the Cardinals a one-run lead in the top of the ninth. The homer was his 15th of the season and completed a comeback after the Cardinals had squandered an early three-run advantage. Herrera has had four multi-hit performances in his last five games, and this homer snapped a 15-game stretch without a long ball.

Drohan didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 10-7 win over the Reds, surrendering six runs on five hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

The southpaw tied his season high in runs allowed while serving up multiple homers for just the second time in 28 appearances (17 starts), but Drohan got taken off the hook for his sixth loss when the Brewers erupted for five runs in the fifth. Drohan is approaching his career high in innings -- he's worked 128 frames this year between Triple-A and the majors, just shy of the 129.2 innings he tossed in 2022 between High-A and Double-A, and far more than the 70.1 innings he managed in 2024 and 2025 combined -- and fatigue may be setting in. Over six appearances (five starts) since the beginning of August, he's stumbled to a 6.15 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 26:15 K:BB in 26.1 innings. He'll try to bounce back in his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home next weekend in a rematch with the Reds.

O'Brien earned the save in Friday's 7-6 win over the Rockies after allowing one hit while striking out two without a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.

A three-run go-ahead home run from Ivan Herrera allowed O'Brien the opportunity to earn the save in the bottom of the ninth, and the star closer got the job done on 12 pitches (10 strikes). O'Brien made things interesting, however, as a throwing error on a pickoff attempt moved the potential tying run into scoring position after a single from TJ Rumfield, O'Brien sealed the win by striking out Cole Carrigg. O'Brien bounced back after being tagged with a blown save Thursday against the Dodgers and has gone 12-for-14 in save chances since the All-Star break despite a 5.60 ERA.

Winquest (1-0) earned the win after allowing one hit while striking out one over 1.2 scoreless innings in Friday's 7-6 victory over the Rockies.

Winquest entered the game in the seventh inning with one out and delivered an impressive showing. His scoreless outing gave the Cardinals' offense enough time to rally, with Ivan Herrera's three-run homer in the ninth ultimately putting St. Louis ahead. The comeback handed Winquest the first victory of his major-league career, while his ERA dropped to 1.59. He's allowed just one run on 5.2 innings and four appearances for the Cardinals this season.

De La Cruz went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-7 loss to the Brewers.

De La Cruz was involved early, delivering a run on a first-inning single and scoring a run in the third. He returned to play shortstop for the first time since sustaining a quadriceps injury last Sunday. De La Cruz didn't miss any time due to the quad and operated as the designated hitter in Cincinnati's previous three games.

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run, three RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 10-7 loss to Milwaukee.

Suarez returned from a two-game absence after passing his US naturalization test. He celebrated with a two-run shot in the third inning, his 21st home run of the season. Suarez has homered three times in the last six games and driven in nine runs during that stretch.

Feltner didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Cardinals after allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings.

Feltner was scratched ahead of his previous scheduled start last Saturday in Atlanta due to an illness, but that didn't affect him this time around as he managed to pitch five innings. He was far from efficient, however. He's issued at least three walks in five of his last six starts, posting a 24:18 K:BB across 30 innings with a 6.30 ERA and 1.87 WHIP over that stretch. Given the traffic he allows on the basepaths, it's tough to rely on Feltner for anything more than volume. His next start is scheduled to come on the road against the Yankees.

Pallante didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Rockies after allowing one run on two hits and four walks while striking out one over five innings.

Pallante was activated Friday ahead of this start after a two-week stint on the injured list due to right elbow inflammation, and while he had control issues, he limited the damage to just one run. Pallante is a serviceable arm who can consistently pitch at least five innings, as he's done so in each of his last 14 starts. Over that span, he owns a 3.04 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with a 52:24 K:BB across 83 innings. He's scheduled to make his next start on the road against the Giants.
