  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

    Mets' Bo Bichette: Homers Thursday

Bichette went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

After going 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series, Bichette put the Mets ahead 2-1 with his first-inning blast off Hunter Dobbins, his sixth homer of the year. Bichette has shown signs of progress at the plate, going 10-for-29 (.345) with a .920 OPS over his last seven games. He's still slashing just .227/.277/.330 with 34 RBI and 31 runs scored across 296 plate appearances this season.

  • Jared Young 1B | NYM

Mets' Jared Young: Launches fourth home run

Young went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Young extended New York's lead to 3-1 in the first inning with a solo homer off Hunter Dobbins, his fourth of the year, before tying the game at 4-4 with an RBI single in the fifth. Since returning from the IL on May 26, Young has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with a .911 OPS while playing nearly every day at first base.

  • Hunter Dobbins SP | STL

Cardinals' Hunter Dobbins: Goes 4.1 innings vs. Mets

Dobbins did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The Mets got to Dobbins early, scoring three runs on a pair of first-inning homers by Bo Bichette and Jared Young, but the right-hander would manage to settle in and hold New York scoreless over his final 3.1 frames. Dobbins has made two starts and four appearances overall for St. Louis this season, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. He would currently line up to face the Padres at home in his next outing, assuming the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation.

  • Jake Mangum LF | PIT

Pirates' Jake Mangum: Taking over in center field

Mangum went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Dodgers.

He started in center field for the fourth consecutive game, filling in for Oneil Cruz (hand). Mangum has gone 5-for-16 with two doubles and a stolen base in that span, though his RBI and run scored Thursday were his first counting stats. Mangum should play nearly every day so long as Cruz is sidelined.

  • Pirates' Rafael Flores: Clubs first career homer

Flores went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a second RBI and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Flores got the start behind the plate as the Pirates deal with a bit of a crisis at catcher. Endy Rodriguez (hip) was banged up from Wednesday's game, while Henry Davis (paternity) and Joey Bart (foot) were both unavailable. This was just the ninth game of Flores' big-league career, and he delivered a homer in the fifth inning to get Pittsburgh on the board. His stay in the majors is likely to be short, but he could get another game or two before heading back to Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Pirates' Brandon Lowe: Homers in loss

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Lowe has gone 6-for-33 (.182) over nine games in June, though all six knocks have gone for extra bases (two homers, four doubles). The second baseman helped the Pirates put a dent in a five-run deficit, though they ultimately never caught up. On the year, Lowe is batting .249 with an .858 OPS, 16 homers, 45 RBI, 42 runs scored, 16 doubles and a triple over 63 contests. He has yet to attempt a stolen base, but he's on pace to reach the 30-homer mark for the second year in a row and the third time in his career.

  • Mitch Keller SP | PIT

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Struggles in third straight start

Keller (5-4) allowed five runs on seven hits, four walks and two hit batsmen while striking out three over four innings to take the loss versus the Dodgers on Thursday.

Keller's struggles reached a third straight start, a span in which he's been unable to complete five frames. He's given up 18 runs over 12.2 innings across those outings, and he's allowed at least four runs in five of his last six games. Keller's now at a 5.14 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB through 77 innings over 14 starts as he's on pace for his worst season since 2021. His next start is projected to be on the road against the Athletics in hitter-friendly Sacramento.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | LAD

Dodgers' Kyle Tucker: Swipes bag, drives in two

Tucker went 1-for-5 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 8-6 win over the Pirates.

Tucker has driven in seven runs over nine games in June despite hitting a meager .206 (7-for-34) this month. The outfielder also logged his fifth steal of the season Thursday, which was his first since May 18 versus the Padres. He's batting .237 with a .714 OPS, five home runs, 34 RBI, 41 runs scored, 16 doubles and two triples over 65 contests overall.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Dodgers' Tanner Scott: Grabs four-out save

Scott struck out three over 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Thursday's 8-6 win over the Pirates.

Scott was brought in to put out a fire in the eighth inning and did just that, and he stayed on for the ninth to lock down the save, his seventh of the season and first since June 2. It's been a bit of a bumpy stretch for him -- this was the first time he hadn't allowed a baserunner since May 29 versus the Phillies. He's given up five runs over his last 5.1 innings, though he hasn't walked a batter in that stretch. Scott is at a 2.48 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 35:3 K:BB through 29 innings. He's added five holds and continues to be the Dodgers' top option for high-leverage moments.

  • Antwone Kelly RP | PIT

Pirates' Antwone Kelly: Ticketed for big leagues

The Pirates are expected to recall Kelly from Triple-A Indianapolis ahead of Friday's game against the Marlins, Francys Romero of BeisbolFR.com reports.

The 22-year-old will be looking to make his big-league debut after posting a 4.50 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 47:24 K:BB across 54 innings with Indianapolis. Kelly appeared in 13 games, making 10 starts, at Triple-A. He's expected to work out of the Pittsburgh bullpen.
