Nelson allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Monday.

This was Nelson's third straight quality start, and he's allowed seven runs over 18 innings in that span. While he's not blowing away opposing hitters, he's been steady and reliable with passable strikeout totals in much of his time as a starter. Overall, he's posted a 3.57 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 115:33 K:BB across 131 innings through 29 appearances (19 starts) this season. Nelson is projected for a home start versus the Red Sox this weekend.

Strider did not factor into the decision in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with a strikeout over five-plus innings.

Strider turned in a passable but underwhelming outing Monday, managing just one strikeout -- his lowest mark of the season. The right-hander has shown flashes of effectiveness but hasn't come close to regaining the dominance he displayed prior to injuring his right elbow early in 2024. Through 19 starts this season, the 26-year-old carries a 4.97 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across 101.1 innings, with a 9.4 K/9 sitting well below his peak production.

Gray (12-8) took the loss Monday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and three walks over six-plus innings against the Athletics. He struck out five.

Gray worked through three scoreless innings Monday before things unraveled, surrendering two home runs in the fourth inning, another in the sixth, and then having two more runs charged to him without recording an out in the seventh frame. The long ball has plagued the right-hander all season, as he carries a 1.31 HR/9 and has allowed multiple homers in six different starts. The veteran now owns a 4.43 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 158.1 innings in 28 starts this year.

Adam was diagnosed with a left quadriceps tendon rupture following Monday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Adam went down with what appeared to be a significant left leg injury with one out in the top of the seventh inning. It is now understood to be a quad issue, and the right-hander will now be sidelined for the foreseeable future. Adam is likely done for the season, and in his absence, Adrian Morejon may be thrust into a more prominent role in the back end of San Diego's bullpen.

Kittredge (4-3) tossed a scoreless inning of relief with two strikeouts to earn the win in Monday's 7-6, extra-inning victory over Atlanta.

Kittredge was tasked with working the top of the 10th inning, and he breezed through the frame on 13 pitches. The righty then earned his second win with his new team when Carson Kelly delivered a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th. Since joining the Cubs at the trade deadline, Kittredge has a 4.15 ERA and 17 strikeouts across 13 innings, and he's settled into a setup role ahead of closer Daniel Palencia.

Gurriel (lower body) was forced to exit Monday's contest against the Rangers in the top of the sixth inning, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Gurriel was hustling to a flyball in left center before awkwardly falling in the top of the sixth inning. Center fielder Blaze Alexander actually came up with the ball on a diving attempt, recording a lineout by Rowdy Tellez to end the frame. After remaining down for a series of moments, Gurriel required a cart to get off the field. He was able to put weight on his feet and get into the cart himself, but it's a rather significant turn of events regardless. More information on his status will likely come in the near future.

Shaw went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a stolen base and an RBI in Monday's 7-6, extra-inning win over Atlanta.

After an encouraging August in which he batted .240 with an .839 OPS and five home runs across 28 games, Shaw got off to a good start in September. The rookie only swiped one base last month, but he's now got 16 steals overall this season in 19 attempts. Shaw continues to exhibit some growing pains as a 23-year-old, though his mix of power and speed gives him plenty of fantasy upside.

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Monday's 7-6, extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Kelly played the role of hero Monday, launching his 14th home run of the season in the bottom of the eighth inning with a runner on to tie the game at 6-6. Then, in the bottom of the 10th, the catcher delivered a walk-off RBI single. Kelly came into the contest batting just .152 with a .346 OPS over his previous 10 games, but he's batting a much better .259 with a .793 OPS overall this year.

Happ went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Monday's 7-6, extra-inning win over Atlanta.

Happ extended his hitting streak to six games, and during that time, he's gone 11-for-25 with the stolen base, three home runs, six runs scored and eight RBI. The veteran outfielder has gone deep on consecutive days, pushing him up to 19 home runs for the season. Happ seems to be rounding into form just in time for the Cubs' stretch run, which is a boon for fantasy managers as well.

Pagan blew the save in Monday's 5-4 win over Toronto, allowing three runs on three hits and no walks with no strikeouts in one-third of an inning.

It was the second time this year that Pagan served up multiple home runs, and he's now converted only one of his last four save chances. It's worth wondering if the 34-year-old right-hander's hold on the closer role is slipping a bit -- Pagan has a 6.10 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB across his last 10.1 innings. That said, the door could be opening for the likes of Tony Santillan and Scott Barlow to step in for additional save opportunities. Santillan has a 2.13 ERA since the start of August, and Barlow owns a 1.26 ERA over that same stretch.
