Laureano went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a 12-3 win against Minnesota on Saturday.

Laureano knocked a run-scoring single in the sixth inning and added a two-run blast in the eighth. The veteran outfielder has gone deep three times in his past five games, pushing his season total to 22 long balls -- two shy of the career-high mark he established in 2019. Since joining the Padres via a July 31 trade, Laureano is slashing .307/.358/.594 with seven home runs, 23 RBI, 18 runs and one stolen base over 27 games.

Perkins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

With the Brewers bringing Jackson Chourio back from the injured list Saturday, Perkins will stay on the bench for the second game in a row. He's set to operate as the fourth outfielder over the final month of the season behind Chourio, Isaac Collins and Sal Frelick.

Hassell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Hassell will hit the bench while the Nationals face off against lefty Ian Seymour. Jacob Young will fill in for Hassell in center field and bat ninth.

Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The left-handed-hitting Garcia was included in the lineup for Wednesday's 11-2 loss to the Yankees while New York sent southpaw Max Fried to the hill, but the infielder will hit the bench Sunday versus Rays lefty Ian Seymour. With Garcia out of the lineup, Paul DeJong will receive the starting nod at the keystone.

Bell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

The switch-hitting Bell has produced a lowly 51 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this season, so he'll retreat to the bench Sunday while the Rays send southpaw Ian Seymour to the hill. Andres Chaparro will spell Bell at first base and bat cleanup.

Kiner-Falefa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Pittsburgh placed Kiner-Falefa on outright waivers Friday, but he proceeded to start the ensuing two games. Cam Devanney will pick up his first career start at third base in place of the veteran infielder.

Reynolds is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Reynolds had started every game dating back to Aug. 5, so he'll be getting a well-deserved breather Sunday as the Pirates close out their series in Boston. With Reynolds on the bench, Alexander Canario will receive the starting nod in right field.

McLain went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Cardinals.

McLain's seventh-inning home run brought the Reds within a run, but they couldn't complete the comeback. The homer was his 12th of the season, but his first since July 18 and just his fifth extra-base hit in the second half. August hasn't been kind to McLain, who has a .219/.254/.281 slash line over 21 games this month.

The Padres optioned Jacob to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Jacob's latest stint in the majors lasted only five days but the right-hander was busy, making three appearances and allowing just one hit and one walk over 4.2 scoreless innings. He'll cede his spot in the bullpen to Kyle Hart, who was recalled from El Paso.

The Padres recalled Hart from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Right-hander David Morgan is scheduled to serve as the opening pitcher for Sunday's game in Minnesota, but Hart could be tasked with covering multiple innings behind him. Hart previously made six starts for the Padres and nine for El Paso this season, but he's worked largely in relief since the All-Star break. The southpaw hasn't covered more than three innings in any appearance in August, so the Padres could end up treating this as more of a bullpen game rather than leaning on Hart as a bulk reliever.
