Martinez allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Wednesday.

The only run Martinez allowed came on a Yoan Moncada solo homer in the fourth inning. Aside from that, the veteran hurler was sharp, as he allowed just one other batter to reach second base and finished his outing by retiring the final eight hitters he faced. After a brief move to the bullpen in early August, Martinez has started in each of his past three outings, picking up two quality starts in that span (though his other appearance was a dud during which he allowed five earned runs across 2.2 frames). Both Chase Burns (elbow) and Nick Lodolo (finger) are currently on the injured list, but neither is dealing with what's expected to be a long-term absence, so it's unclear if Martinez will get another turn in the rotation.

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rockies.

The Dodgers were held scoreless through five frames before Hernandez broke the seal on the offense with a solo shot in the sixth. The long ball was his third over his past six games and his 21st of the season. Hernandez's .757 OPS on the campaign is well below the .840 mark he posted during the regular season last year, but the veteran outfielder does rank in the top 20 leaguewide with 75 RBI.

Goodman went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in an 8-3 win against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Goodman's RBI all came in the latter stages of the contest -- he knocked a run-scoring single in the sixth inning and added a two-run double in the eighth. The talented young catcher finished with his first multi-hit game since Aug. 5 and his seventh three-hit game of the campaign. Among MLB backstops, Goodman ranks second with 72 RBI and is tied for fourth with 22 doubles.

Gordon (4-5) tossed six innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters to earn the victory.

Gordon kept Los Angeles off the scoreboard until Teoscar Hernandez tagged him for a solo homer in the sixth inning. Overall, Gordon threw 60 of 92 pitches for strikes and got a first-pitch strike on 17 of the 24 batters he faced. This was quite a turnaround for the right-hander, especially considering the competition -- over his previous four starts, he had registered a horrid 15.26 ERA across 15.1 innings. Gordon seems like a good bet to make his next turn in the rotation after the strong outing and with Austin Gomber placed on outright waivers Wednesday. If that's the case, Gordon's next start is lined up to come in Houston next week.

Pham went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Pham accounted for all of Pittsburgh's offense with a two-run double in the first inning. After a hot stretch in the middle of the summer, he's slowed since the start of August, hitting only .218 with a pair of home runs, seven RBI and six runs scored across 16 games. Pham remains the Pirates' primary left fielder, though the team could choose to shift playing time to younger options down the stretch.

Roupp suffered a sprained left knee during his start in Wednesday's 8-1 loss to the Padres and is scheduled to undergo an MRI later this week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Roupp is expected to be placed on the 15-day injured list after he was struck by a comebacker in the bottom of the third inning and needed to be carted off the field. The right-hander -- who took the loss while allowing five earned runs on five hits and two walks over 2.1 innings -- now owns a 3.80 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 102:45 K:BB through his 22 starts on the season. The severity of his injury won't be known until the results of his MRI are available, but Roupp will land on the IL for the second time in two months and could be at risk of missing the rest of the season.

Ohtani was diagnosed with a right thigh contusion after being hit by a comebacker during Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Rockies, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

Ohtani was hit by an Orlando Arcia comebacker in the bottom of the fourth inning, but he was able to stay in the game and finish out the frame. He then took his next at-bat as the Dodgers' designated hitter in the top of the fifth, but Alex Call pinch-hit for Ohtani in the top of the eighth with the Dodgers trailing 6-1. Manager Dave Roberts said after the game that Ohtani will get a scheduled day off Thursday, and the hope is Ohtani will be ready to serve as a DH in Friday's series opener against the Padres. Ohtani isn't expected to require any further testing on his injured thigh, and he doesn't appear to be at risk of missing his next turn through the rotation either.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Tucker has fully healed from the hairline fracture he sustained to his right hand June 1, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Though the injury occurred at the beginning of June, the Cubs hadn't disclosed until Wednesday that Tucker had been affected by the hand issue. Tucker has been held out of the lineup for the Cubs' last three games, as Counsell is trying to allow the outfielder to get a mental reset while he's hit just .189 with four extra-base hits since the beginning of July. The Cubs wrap up their series with the Brewers on Thursday, but it's unclear if Tucker will be back in the lineup for the finale.

Acosta went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Cardinals.

The 22-year-old infielder collected his first career MLB hit and home run, launching a 418-foot shot off Andre Pallante in the sixth inning that chased the right-hander from the contest. The milestone blast came in Acosta's third major-league game. He showed flashes of his upside in the minors this season, tallying 13 homers and 28 steals over 106 games in Jacksonville. While his role with Miami remains limited for now, his power-speed profile could offer intriguing fantasy value if he earns consistent playing time.

Ohtani was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rockies in the top of the eighth inning after he was hit in the leg by a comebacker while pitching earlier in the contest, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Ohtani was hit in the leg by a comebacker off the bat of Orlando Arcia. The training staff came out to check on Ohtani, but he stayed in the game to finish out the inning on the mound. Ohtani stayed in the dugout for an extended period of time prior to his plate appearance in the top of the fifth and was eventually pulled for a pinch hitter in the eighth with the Dodgers trailing 6-1. Manager Dave Roberts may provide an update after the game, but Ohtani should be viewed as day-to-day for now. Los Angeles wraps up the series with Colorado on Thursday, but Ohtani had already been expected to sit out that game for rest purposes before he made his early exit Wednesday.
