McCann went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Padres.

McCann has yet to be held hitless since he was activated from a stint on the injured list due to a quadriceps strain. The catcher extended his hitting streak with a seventh-inning homer. Over nine games since his return, he's gone 18-for-35 (.514) with four homers and 15 RBI. McCann is batting .319 with an .840 OPS, four long balls, 21 RBI, 11 runs scored and five doubles over 99 plate appearances. He'll likely get a short-term bump in playing time while Gabriel Moreno is on the paternity list, though McCann's hot hitting of late could open the door for a few at-bats as the designated hitter as well.

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-4 loss to the Padres.

Arenado got the Diamondbacks on the board with his homer off German Marquez in the seventh inning. The long ball was Arenado's second in the last four games. The third baseman is now batting .244 with a .753 OPS, 16 homers, 53 RBI, 53 runs scored, 20 doubles and three stolen bases over 108 contests last year, production that represents a slight bounce-back effort compared to last year.

Rodriguez (10-4) allowed seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Padres.

Rodriguez hadn't allowed more than five runs in a start all year, and he's given up four or more runs just five times in 23 outings. He was coming off eight scoreless innings versus the Pirates in his last start, which makes this performance quite the letdown. Overall, Rodriguez has done an excellent job this year with a 2.71 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 92:45 K:BB through 136.1 innings, with the bulk of his success being a product of limiting home runs, though that didn't help him Tuesday. He's projected to make his next start at home in a tough matchup versus the Dodgers. He's held the Dodgers to four runs (three earned) over 17 innings across three previous matchups this season, adding a 13:4 K:BB in those games.

Rengifo went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Rengifo has gone five games without a multi-hit effort, but he's drawn four walks and added two stolen bases in that span. The switch hitter continues to fill a utility role, though he has had a fair amount of success in pushing Gavin Sheets for time in left field. Overall, Rengifo is batting .237 with a .628 OPS, six steals, two home runs, 27 RBI and 32 runs scored over 74 contests between San Diego and Milwaukee.

Cronenworth went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

All three hits were singles. Cronenworth has hit pretty well since the All-Star break, going 17-for-62 (.274) over his last 16 games, though he has just two extra-base hits and five RBI in that span. For the season, the infielder is batting .220 with a .595 OPS, three home runs, 17 RBI, 26 runs scored, five doubles and five stolen bases over 233 plate appearances. The Padres kept their trade-deadline shopping to the pitching side of the roster, so Cronenworth should continue to see steady time at second base as long as his bat doesn't go cold.

Merrill went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Merrill has logged five multi-hit efforts over his last 10 games, including a trio of three-hit performances. The outfielder has added nine RBI and two steals in that span. For the season, he's hitting .241 with a .691 OPS, 16 home runs, 54 RBI, 55 runs scored, 18 doubles, one triple and 22 stolen bases over 111 contests.

Machado went 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Diamondbacks.

Machado surged coming out of the All-Star break, but he had gone just 1-for-19 with one walk and nine strikeouts over his previous five games. He broke the slump with a big performance Tuesday, including a season-high four RBI. The third baseman is now batting .213 with a .724 OPS, 23 home runs, 69 RBI, 58 runs scored, 20 doubles and two stolen bases over 111 contests. Despite the down numbers nearly across the board, he's still tracking toward the 30-homer mark for the first time since 2023.

Vasquez (7-6) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Vasquez has allowed just three runs over 17 innings across five games since he returned from an ankle bruise. The right-hander appears to have at least temporarily won a spot in the Padres' rotation -- JP Sears was optioned Tuesday, while Griffin Canning and German Marquez both made relief appearances in this contest. The Padres revitalized their rotation by acquiring Casey Mize and Robbie Ray ahead of the trade deadline, but Vasquez should start until Nick Pivetta (forearm) and Joe Musgrove (elbow) complete their rehab assignments. Vasquez is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Astros if he remains in the rotation.

McCarthy went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

McCarthy has started August hot, going 7-for-19 with three extra-base hits and five RBI over the first four games of the month. The outfielder is up to a .293 average and .825 OPS on the year while adding 11 home runs, 64 RBI, 52 runs scored, 23 doubles, seven triples and 17 stolen bases over 99 contests. McCarthy's spot at the top of the Rockies' lineup and his decent speed contributions have made him a quality depth outfielder in fantasy.

Castro went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

This was Castro's career-high 13th homer of the season. The utility man has surged to the mark with four long balls over his last seven games, though this was his first one in that span that wasn't a solo shot. Castro is now hitting .264 with a .760 OPS, 48 RBI, 52 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 15 doubles and one triple over 97 contests in his first year with the Rockies.
