Mathews has a 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB in 16.2 innings over his last three starts for Triple-A Memphis.

Mathews has failed to meet expectations this season, logging an 18 percent walk rate and 1.65 WHIP in 65 innings at Triple-A with an early-season shoulder injury mixed in. However, this most recent stretch is his best of the season, so it would at least seem that he is healthy and making progress with his shoddy control.

Hall (oblique) is expected to be sidelined until mid-September, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Hall was placed on the 15-day injured list this past weekend after suffering a mild right oblique strain. He will be shut down until late August before beginning a throwing program, provided his symptoms subside. Hall has been used as a multi-inning reliever, so it will take a bit for him to be built back up once he's throwing again.

Chourio (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Chourio has been ramping up his running as he works his way back from a strained right hamstring, and he will test the leg out in a game setting this weekend. Barring a setback, the young outfielder should be activated from the 10-day injured list sometime next week. Chourio has been shelved since late July.

Santucci has a 2.73 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB in 29.2 innings across six starts since getting promoted to Double-A Binghamton on July 7.

Santucci struck out a career-high 11 batters in 5.1 scoreless innings in his most recent start for the Rumble Ponies. A 22-year-old lefty the Mets selected in the second round of last year's draft, Santucci has built up to 97.1 total innings this year after never throwing more than 58 innings in a season in three years at Duke.

Schmitt went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 win over San Diego.

Schmitt hit a double to left field in the first inning before coming around to score one of the Giants' four runs in the frame. The 26-year-old infielder returned to action Monday after missing two straight games due to a right forearm contusion. Over 12 games this month, he's slashing .283/.353/.500 with seven RBI, six runs scored, four doubles and two home runs across 51 plate appearances. Overall, he has posted a .251/.326/.407 slash line with 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles and seven homers across 222 plate appearances this season.

Walker picked up a hold in Monday's 4-3 win over San Diego, allowing two hits while striking out one over 1.1 innings.

Walker entered the game with two outs in the seventh, surrendering a single before escaping the inning. The right-hander gave up another single to the first batter he faced in the eighth but followed it with a strikeout before inducing an inning-ending double play. He threw 13 of his 17 pitches for strikes en route to his first hold since June 27. Over six appearances in August, Walker has recorded a 1.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and a 4:1 K:BB across six innings.

The Mets will place Alvarez on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right thumb injury, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Alvarez injured the thumb during Sunday's win over the Mariners and had been set to undergo an MRI. It's not clear what exactly the MRI revealed, but Andy Martino of SNY.tv relays that the Mets have some concern the injury could be a season-ending concern. Luis Torrens will serve as the Mets' primary catcher while Alvarez is shelved.

Wiggins hasn't pitched for Double-A Knoxville since July 19.

Marquee Sports Network reported that Wiggins wouldn't pitch in the Futures Game and would instead rest for a month before returning July 19. Indeed, Wiggins didn't pitch between June 20 and July 19, but it didn't seem to be part of the plan to shut Wiggins down after his two-inning appearance on that date. Wiggins threw 59.2 innings in 2024, his first year back from Tommy John surgery, and he is up to 62.1 innings this season. The 23-year-old righty has always had great stuff, and this year his control improved enough (10.4 BB% at Double-A) that he has a real chance of making it as a starting pitcher.

Perkins is out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.

Perkins went 1-for-7 with a walk and a run scored while starting in center field in both of the Brewers' first two games following his return from the bereavement list Sunday, but he'll give way to Brandon Lockridge in the first contest of the twin bill. The two players could form a platoon in center until Jackson Chourio (hamstring) returns from the injured list, with the switch-hitting Perkins in line to receive most of the starts versus right-handed pitchers.

Seigler remains out of the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.

Seigler had started at third base in five of the Brewers' first eight games of August as manager Pat Murphy more proactively shielded rookie Caleb Durbin from right-handed pitching, but Durbin has since re-established himself as Milwaukee's clear top option at the hot corner. Over the last nine games, Seigler has cracked the lineup just once while Durbin has started in the other eight contests.
