Taillon (calf) struck out one batter and allowed seven earned runs on seven hits across three innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Iowa on Sunday. He also hit two batters.

Making his first appearance at any level since June 29, Taillon didn't issue any walks but lacked command in the 64-pitch outing. Though the right-hander's results left much to be desired, he left the contest feeling healthy and without any reported setbacks with his calf. The Cubs may want to build Taillon up a bit more in another rehab start, but he appears to be closing in on a return from the 15-day injured list. Chicago added Michael Soroka to the back end of its rotation before the trade deadline, but Taillon is likely to slot in as the team's No. 3 starter behind Shota Imanaga and Matthew Boyd once he gets activated.

The Marlins claimed Wiemer off waivers from the Royals on Monday.

Wiemer had been booted off the Royals' 40-man roster after slashing a disappointing .182/.291/.312 with nine home runs at Triple-A Omaha this season. The 26-year-old will look to get back on track offensively at Triple-A Jacksonville.

Morgan (elbow) has built back up to throwing off a mound, but he's without a definitive target date for a return from the 60-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Morgan is dealing with a right elbow impingement, which has kept him out since the middle of April. After beginning a rehab assignment in June, the veteran reliever suffered a setback, and he's been slowly building himself back up since then. While his ability to throw off a mound is a good sign, Morgan doesn't appear particularly close to returning from the 60-day injured list.

Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

The shortstop gave the Mets an early lead by launching his 21st homer of the year off Carson Whisenhunt in the first inning, but things unraveled quickly for New York after that in a 12-4 rout. Lindor has found a groove at the plate again, slashing .310/.370/.524 over the last 10 games with three doubles, two homers, one steal, seven runs and nine RBI.

White went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during a 4-2 win over the Reds in Sunday's MLB Speedway Classic.

The 31-year-old was the star of the contest, powering Atlanta's offense with a three-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the seventh, with the second blast bouncing off the track at Bristol Motor Speedway. White has started four straight games in right field while filling in for Ronald Acuna (calf), and since replacing the All-Star during Tuesday's contest, he's gone 6-for-19 (.316) with four runs and seven RBI in addition to Sunday's long balls.

Ramos went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk in Sunday's 12-4 win over the Mets.

Ramos drew a walk in the third inning before coming around to score on a three-run homer. The 25-year-old outfielder added an RBI single in the fourth and another base hit in the ninth before scoring again. Ramos has recorded six multi-hit performances over 15 games since the All-Star break, slashing .305/.386/.356 with nine runs scored, four RBI, three doubles and one stolen base across 70 plate appearances during that span.

Lucchesi threw a scoreless inning in Sunday's 12-4 win over the Mets, allowing two hits while striking out one.

Lucchesi delivered a bounce-back performance after surrendering two earned runs on just 11 pitches over one-third of an inning during Friday's win over the Mets. While it took the 32-year-old 23 pitches to escape the inning Sunday, he stranded two Mets runners. He now owns a 2.41 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and an 18:3 K:BB across 18.2 innings in 18 outings this season.

DeSclafani is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Padres at Chase Field.

After working out of the bullpen in each of his previous three appearances, DeSclafani joined the Arizona rotation this past weekend as a replacement for Merrill Kelly, who was shipped to the Rangers ahead of the trade deadline. While making his first start for Arizona since July 6 on Friday in Sacramento, DeSclafani was dealt a loss while giving up four earned runs on five hits and three walks over 2.1 innings against the Athletics. Despite the rough showing, DeSclafani will get at least one more chance to solidify his spot in the Arizona rotation. Another poor outing, however, could prompt the Diamondbacks to go in a different direction with their No. 5 starter.

Iglesias gave up two hits and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Sunday to record his 14th save of the season in a win over the Reds.

Atlanta surprisingly didn't move Iglesias at the trade deadline despite an overheated market for late-inning relievers, and he's rewarded the team by collecting saves in back-to-back appearances since. The veteran right-hander has been scored upon only twice in his last 22 outings, posting a 2.18 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB through 20.2 innings over that stretch while converting six of seven save chances.

The Nationals will recall Poulin from Triple-A Rochester, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

Poulin was claimed off waivers from the Tigers on Sunday and is poised to report to the big-league roster. The southpaw has collected a 3.38 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB across 42.2 innings this season at the Triple-A level.
