Spencer Schwellenbach P | ATL
Braves' Spencer Schwellenbach: Sharp in spring debut
Schwellenbach gave up a hit and struck out two over two scoreless innings in Tuesday's split-squad game against the Pirates.
The 24-year-old right-hander tossed 14 of 23 pitches for strikes in his first Grapefruit League action this spring. Schwellenbach exploded onto the fantasy radar last season, rising from High-A to make 21 starts for Atlanta and posting a 3.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 127:23 K:BB in 123.2 big-league innings. He's being counted on to fill a key role in a rotation that will be missing Spencer Strider (elbow) early in the schedule.

Tanner Rainey RP | DET
Pirates' Tanner Rainey: Competing for roster spot
Rainey has thrown two scoreless innings while striking out four and walking none across two Grapefruit League appearances.
Rainey is in Pirates camp as a non-roster invitee after a down 2024 season. Last year was his first back from Tommy John surgery, and he had been effective for several years prior while working out of the Nationals' bullpen. Pittsburgh boasts a relatively deep pool of relievers, but Rainey could sneak onto the roster if he continues to perform well.

Heliot Ramos RF | NYY
Giants' Heliot Ramos: Resumes hitting Wednesday
Ramos (oblique) hit off a tee and took soft toss Wednesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It's a day earlier than he was expected to resume hitting, which would appear to be a good sign. Recovering from a sore oblique, Ramos is hopeful of making his Cactus League debut March 4. The young outfielder is expected to be ready in time for Opening Day, provided he can avoid setbacks.

Jared Jones SP | PIT
Pirates' Jared Jones: Debuts new sinker
Jones threw five sinkers during his first spring training start Tuesday, Kevin Gorman of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Jones threw 27 total pitches across two scoreless innings while striking out three. During the impressive outing, Jones debuted a new two-seamer with sinking action. He has yet to commit to using the pitch during the regular season, though continuing to develop the offering appears to be a priority this spring.

Kris Bryant RF | COL
Rockies' Kris Bryant: Shows pop early in spring
Bryant hit a 462-foot home run that had an 111.8 mph exit velocity during Tuesday's Cactus League game, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Bryant has struggled to stay on the field since joining the Rockies in 2022, though he worked on his core strength and flexibility this offseason and enters the season with renewed hope. While there should be caution in interpreting spring training results, Bryant's shot Tuesday was an impressive start to the exhibition slate. He's started both of his games at DH, another factor that could help him stay healthy during the regular season.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: First start of spring
Marquez threw two scoreless innings in his Cactus League debut Tuesday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Marquez also struck out two and walked two. Most importantly, he threw 32 pitches and came away with no injury concerns, a significant development after he was limited to only one start in 2024 while recovering from an elbow injury. Marquez figures to lead the Rockies' rotation in 2025.

Chase Dollander SP | COL
Rockies' Chase Dollander: Strong chance at roster spot
Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post expects Dollander to be in the Rockies' rotation to begin the regular season.
There were rumblings prior to spring training about the possibility of Dollander skipping Triple-A and jumping straight to the majors to begin the 2025 season. He helped his case with a solid spring debut Monday, when he struck out three across two innings with his only run allowed coming on a solo home run. Dollander will have high expectations due to his rapid rise to the majors and pedigree, though it's worth keeping in mind the challenge he faces with Coors Field as his home park.

Quinn Mathews SP | STL
Cardinals' Quinn Mathews: Dazzles in spring debut
Mathews fanned three batters while allowing two hits and one walk over two scoreless innings in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays.
The reigning minor-league strikeout leader set down Vladimir Guerrero swinging in a perfect first inning before adding a pair of strikeouts in the second to escape a bases-loaded jam. Mathews has an outside shot to win a spot in the Cardinals' rotation if he wows this spring, but he's most likely pegged for Triple-A Memphis. Even if he doesn't break camp with the big club, he's a good bet to spend a good chunk of 2025 in the St. Louis rotation.

Victor Scott II CF | STL
Cardinals' Victor Scott: Homers, triples Tuesday
Scott tripled and socked a solo home run in Tuesday's Grapefruit League contest versus the Blue Jays.
Scott contributed the Cardinals' only two hits on the day and also had a 106-mph lineout. The speedy outfielder has reached base four times in his first two games this spring. Scott made the start in left field Tuesday while Lars Nootbaar played center field. Those two players along with Michael Siani are competing for reps in center field for St. Louis this season.

Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Phillies' Bryce Harper: Set for Grapefruit League debut
Harper (illness) will bat third and start at first base in Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Blue Jays.
Harper missed some time at the beginning of last week while recovering from an illness, but he appears to be fully healthy now and will make his spring debut Wednesday. The 32-year-old is heading into his second season as the Phillies' full-time first baseman after he slashed .285/.373/.525 with 30 home runs, 87 RBI, 85 runs and seven steals across 145 games in 2024.
